Jim Carrey, 52, never fails to make us laugh and his Saturday Night Live appearance on Oct. 25, was no different. In his third time as host for the show, Jim gave an epic laugh-out-loud skit when he took on Matthew McConaughey‘s Lincoln car commercial.
Jim Carrey’s spoof on SNL was so spot on, we think he deserves a role in the second Magic Mike movie — as long as he keeps his shirt on. In the True Detective-esque ads for Lincoln, Jim takes on the road while having an internal conversation with a strong Texan accent — very very similar to Matthew’s tone.
With long slicked back hair and a crisp black suit, similar to Matthew’s, Jim starts out with a quick jab at the Lincoln Lawyer‘s career path.
“Sometimes you got to take a step back, a big step back. Like going from winning an Oscar to doing a car commercial,” he said. “My agent was like, ‘I can understand if you did this right after The Lincoln Lawyer. That would’ve made sense.”
Although we don’t know where Jim is driving to, he seems like he is on a mission of self discovery. Seeming calm and collected he channels Matthew’s demeanor and even does the exact weird thumb-finger rolling. He makes a joke that he is actually rolling a booger — gross!
He seems so relaxed that at one point he looks to have fallen asleep behind the wheel!
As for why Jim and Matthew love to drive a Lincoln, “Why do I drive a Lincoln? Why does anybody do anything?”
We just hope no on was hurt in the making of this spoof!
Can we just say how excited we are that Jim is giving his role as Llyod Christmas, in Dumb And Dumber another go?!
It was a no brainer for the Dr. Seuss actor to star in a sequel to his career making role. The original film received a $247-million worldwide box office haul and still is one of America’s comedic favorites.
“We got no food, we got no jobs… our PETS’ HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!” Dumb And Dumber To is set to open in theaters on Nov. 14!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers, are you excited to see the famous sequel? Let us know!
