On the same day that Calvin Harris premiered ‘Open Wide’ featuring Big Sean on Hot 97, he also released the incredible, action-packed music video. Check it out!
With his new album, Motion, set to hit iTunes on Oct. 31, Calvin Harris, 30, has just released his new music video for “Open Wide” featuring Big Sean, 26. The video revolves around an action-packed showdown in the desert, and it’s the perfect fit for the song that is about to be stuck in your head for the next week. Watch!
Big Sean & Calvin Harris In ‘Open Wide’: Watch Video For Hot New Song
In the video, Calvin leaves it up to Sean to handle the shoot-out portion of that day’s activities, watching bullet-ridden people hit the ground from a nearby diner. Smart, Calvin — smart.
Interspersed with quick cuts of two rival gangs shooting at each other in the middle of the desert is a black-clad ballerina seemingly impervious to bullets, or simply able to dodge them, Matrix-style.
Calvin Harris’ ‘Open Wide’ Ft. Big Sean: The Beat Is Not New
As DirectLyrics points out, the beat in “Open Wide” is not new; “He previously used the same drop and a similar build up on a solo record called C.U.B.A released back in June.” The change now being, of course, Sean’s stellar addition.
“This goes out to, uh, you know who this goes out to,” is Sean’s last line in the song.
Considering he raps lyrics like, “If we set a wedding date, don’t call off,” and “That’s just a couple more problems to add to the couples’ counselin’,” it seems a pretty safe bet that he’s talking about ex Naya Rivera, 27.
Or, at the very least, it’s a happy coincidence. That’s what he claimed was the case with his song “IDFWU,” anyway — that it wasn’t necessarily about Naya but that it definitely lines up with his current life experience.
Now that Sean is getting hot and heavy with Ariana Grande, 21, we have to wonder when the love songs will start rolling out, considering how autobiographical (and seemingly prophetic) his music is.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think about “Open Wide”? Pretty fun, right? Let us know.
