Move over, Grant Gustin, because there’s a new Flash in town! ‘Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ star Ezra Miller was cast as the speedy superhero for a 2018 film!

There’s a new superhero coming to the big screen. The Flash, who is the fastest man (and superhero) alive, will hit theaters in 2018 with Ezra Miller, 22, in the title role. This casting is unprecedented in the superhero franchise. Ezra will be the first openly gay actor to headline a solo superhero film.

Ezra Miller As ‘The Flash’ — Actor To Don Scarlet Suit

After the crazy success of The Flash TV series on the CW, a solo film was just announced, but a new actor will don the scarlet suit. Ezra Miller is confirmed to star in The Flash movie, which will hit theaters in 2018, Variety reports.

The superhero is a part of the Justice League and Ezra may have an appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice in 2015.

For those who don’t know, The Flash centers on Barry Allen, a young scientist with the ability of super speed.

Ezra revealed in a 2012 interview that he identifies himself as a “queer.”

“I have a lot of really wonderful friends who are of very different sexes and genders,” he told Out Magazine. “I am very much in love with no one in particular. I’ve been trying to figure out relationships, you know?”

This makes Ezra the first out LGBT actor to star a major superhero on the big screen. We think Ezra is a great choice for the role. His acting in The Perks of Being A Wallflower and We Need To Talk About Kevin prove he can take on anything.

HollywoodLifers, what do you think about Ezra as The Flash? Great idea? Do you think Grant Gustin should have been offered the role? Let us know!
