As this season of ‘Teen Mom 2’ finally comes to an end, both Jenelle and Kailyn were forced to address their bipolar disorders — and how they fear it could affect their children in the future.
On the second half of the Teen Mom 2 reunion special, airing Oct. 15, Jenelle Evans, 22, and Kailyn Lowry, 22, are asked to openly discuss their bipolar disorders. Could Jace Evans and Isaac Rivera, both 4, face the same diagnosis somewhere down the line, and if so, what do their moms think about that?
‘Teen Mom 2’s Jenelle & Kailyn Address Their Bipolar
Aw, this was really sad to watch.
On the last part of the season 5 TM2 reunion, a fan submits a question specifically for Kailyn and Jenelle — but it’s kind of a touchy subject.
Dr. Drew Pinsky asks the question for the fan, questioning whether or not Kailyn and Jenelle are worried that their children will inherit the disorder from them.
Kailyn tackled the subject first, explaining that her “biggest fear” is that if Isaac or her other son, Lincoln Marroquin, see her “acting out” that they might copy it and think they are doing something right because their mommy did it.
Jenelle more or less agreed with what Kail said by saying, “I just think it’s very important that you watch your temper and anger around your children, because like Kail said they can see it and they’ll act out the way you do.”
But what if their children are diagnosed with the disorder, seeing as it’s been linked to genetics in the past?
“If he is diagnosed then we’ll deal with it and figure it out,” Kailyn said.
Check out the EXCLUSIVE clip above, and be sure to tune in to the second half of the Teen Mom 2 reunion on Oct. 15 at 10/9c on MTV.
