Want to take a walk in my shoes? In my #InHerSCShoes shoe diary I spilled on my must-have shoe styles for fall. SHOP if you want to rock my favorite fall footwear.
As Fashion Director at HollywoodLife, no two days at work are ever the same — and since I’m always on the go, it’s important that my footwear is both fashionable and functional! Looking good on the go is key, and the right pair of shoes can set the tone for my entire day. I teamed up with Shoe Carnival to show you what it’s like to take a walk in my shoes…even if that means wearing six pairs in one day.
Open-Toed Booties — A Stylish Start To Monday Morning:
For fall, my go-to is an open-toed bootie. It provides the same comfort of a sandal but it is more appropriate for the season. The weather in NYC can be quite unpredictable, however, whether the temperature soars above 75 or drops below 50, an open-toed bootie still looks appropriate and chic. This season we’re seeing jogger pants make a bold return. Initially it was a trend I was weary to try on my 5’2″ frame, however, an open-toed bootie gives me just the right amount of height — and they’re way more comfortable than a towering pair of pumps, especially when I’m heading into work in the morning. Since I spend all day on my feet, it’s crucial that I wear a more comfortable pair of shoes — especially for my commute. When I head into work on a Monday morning, I’m usually busy planning the content for the week ahead and sorting through products and packages for upcoming shoots.
I loved the buckle detailing on these open-toed booties and the way they show a hint of my ankle, elongating my legs — and you can’t beat the price tag! The ‘Delicious London’ bootie is currently on sale for $29.98 at Shoe Carnival. Stylish and affordable? Now that’s a look you can’t beat.
Not only do the booties look great with my joggers, but they look just as good with dresses and skirts — they’re so versatile.
Grey Booties On-The-Go:
After I finish prepping for the week I head out to market appointments and showrooms to view new collections. I opted for a grey bootie on this occasion, because the stacked heel gives me the height I need and is oh-so-comfortable. Since the shoe is closed it’s also perfect for a day like yesterday, where I might get caught in a little bit of rain. While I was feeling quite ’70s as I rocked the shoe with a flowing dress, cropped vest and a wide-brim hat, they would look just as good had I tucked in my skinny jeans and threw on an oversized sweater with a cropped jacket for a more modern, casual look.
Bold Booties For Fall:
After heading from one appointment to another I found myself back in the office — and in the studio! I transformed the boho vibe of my outfit into something more office-chic, (and camera-ready!), by trading my vest for a tailored jacket — and a quick shoe swap sealed the deal! My black booties had a more refined silhouette and a thin heel, making them a great option if you’re looking for a shoe that can easily go from day to night. They also had a more dressy vibe, which works so well in the office.
When it comes to finding a great pair of shoes, it’s all in the details — and the gold exposed zipper on each side added the perfect touch to the look. These booties would be great for someone who is constantly multi-tasking, because you can easily dress them up or down. Simply SHOP for them HERE on Shoe Carnival. Since they’re currently on sale for $49.98 they’re also a great investment!
Pointy Pumps Add A Polished Touch To Any Outfit:
After shooting I found myself heading into a meeting — and nothing looks as polished as a pointy pair of pumps! Whether you throw them on with slacks, a dress, or even jeans, they are definitely a must-have that instantly dresses up any outfit. Even if you don’t love rocking high heels, you can’t go wrong keeping a pair under your desk!
Once my meeting was over I found myself in the accessories closet, trying to find the perfect jewelry to go with my dress for later that night. My day is always so nonstop as I can often go from my desk straight to a red carpet — and sometimes it’s nice to kick my heels back and take a break!
Want to update your basic pair of black pumps? Why not play with texture! The black croc pattern on these Bandolino ‘Fairbury’ pumps instantly attracted me to the shoe — and since they’re currently on sale on Shoe Carnival for $39.98 they’re a great steal! If you work in a more corporate, conservative environment you probably can’t really experiment with your style — but a great pair of pumps can allow you to show a bit of your personality while also adhering to the dress code.
Strappy Shoes For A Glam Night Out:
After a busy day at work, it was time to get glam for a premiere — and the right pair of pumps always make me feel so confident and ready to go! I swapped my work get-up for something more glam as I rocked a sheer, embellished long-sleeved dress. I matched the ensemble perfectly to a suede pair of ankle-strap pumps. Ankle-strap pumps are the staple shoe on the red carpet right now, with so many celebs rocking the style — and I love the way this shoe showed off the trendy style in a fall-appropriate way. The closed, pointy toe and mirco-suede fabric was perfect for the season and it added the perfect finishing touches to my outfit.
Whether you’re heading out for date night or getting glam for a wedding, an ankle-strap pump can instantly dress up any look, (and they were so comfortable, too!). While my shoes looked fit for a red carpet they actually come with a seriously affordable price tag — in fact, they’re currently on sale on Shoe Carnival for $24.98!
After a glam night out it’s great to kick back and relax before bedtime. Even when you’re dressing down you don’t have to sacrifice your sense of style! When I’m not at work or a big event, I love to keep it casual. Mixing textures is one of my favorite things to do in the fall, and that’s just what I did when I wore my leather-paneled leggings with a chunky knit poncho — and my black boots finished off the outfit, keeping it comfortable and cool.
While you can easily dress up these ankle boots by pairing them with a dress and tights, I love the way they look dressed down. The micro-suede makes them oh-so-soft and the slight heel adds a little height to my look, even when I’m dressing down. Want to get them? You can SHOP for the Nicole ‘Tinely’ ankle boots on Shoe Carnival HERE, where they’re currently on sale for $39.98.
