Jack, 39, is canceling his remaining tour dates in Mexico, following Isaiah’s unexpected death, according to the Associated Press. His band was scheduled to perform two more concerts in Mexico this week, but out of respect for Isaiah, who died at 38, the show will not go on.

The tour’s cancellation was announced by Third Man Records, who posted the following message on their website:

“It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah “Ikey” Owens.  He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans.

“Ikey Owens was an astounding keyboard player in Jack White’s backing band.  He also played with Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents, and many other projects.

“Out of respect for Ikey, the remaining shows of the Jack White Tour in Mexico have been cancelled.

“We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.”

Isaiah, a native of Long Beach, California, had recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee to join Jack White’s band. In addition to Mars Volta and Free Moral Agents, bands such as Long Beach Dub Allstars and Crystal Antlers also had the privilege of making music with Isaiah.

In 2002, Isaiah began working with Jack White and appeared on both of his solo albums. Undoubtedly, the keyboardist will be missed not only by Jack, but also the entire music industry.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Isaiah’s family and friends during this difficult time.
