For diehard fans, it was no secret that ‘The Walking Dead’s season 5 premiere would answer a LOT of questions. In case you missed them, here are the 5 biggest reveals from the episode!
On Oct. 12, The Walking Dead hit the ground running with a return episode that came prepared to answer most of the hard-hitting questions viewers were left asking themselves after the season 4 finale. Did you catch all of the things we learned about Terminus during the premiere episode, or do you need a refresher? Thankfully, HollywoodLife.com has got you covered!
‘The Walking Dead’s Terminus: 5 Major Things Learned During The Premiere
The second half of The Walking Dead‘s fourth season was dedicated to Terminus. Where is it? What is it? Is it safe? Who else is there? Are they cannibals?
We quickly learned that Terminus was not the safe and sound sanctuary it declared itself to be, and instead we witnessed our favorite characters — Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira), and more — forced into an abandoned train car with a future that looked bleak.
The season 5 premiere picked up just moments after the finale, but not before flashing back to teach us a little something about how Terminus came to be. This was only the first of many exciting reveals about the horrifying place Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) once thought would be their next safe haven after losing the prison.
So, if you think you might have missed any of the exciting information provided to viewers by The Walking Dead‘s season 5 premiere, fear not! Everything you need to know is right here for you.
5 Things You Need To Know About Terminus
1.) Once upon a time, Terminus really, truly was a sanctuary. This is something we learn about halfway through the episode when Mary (Denise Crosby) confronts Carol inside the “sacrifice” room.
2.) After Terminus opened it’s doors to the public as a safe place, it was overrun by a gang of no-good dudes. According to what Mary told Carol, these no-good dudes locked up the original founders of Terminus and then proceeded to rape and pillage them until there was nothing left for them to give.
3.) Mary is Gareth (Andrew J. West) and Alex’s mom! This was revealed at the very end of the episode, in the final Terminus flashback.
4.) Although it has yet to be revealed how it was done, Gareth, Alex (Tate Ellington), and Mary somehow managed to take Terminus back from the no-good dudes. As Mary told Carol in the sacrifice room, “You’re the butcher, or you’re the cattle.” But, we also learned in a second flashback that it was Gareth who originally said this while he and his family were locked up in the same train car they put Rick & the gang in.
5.) No one is safe from Terminus, not even their own people. The guy getting sawed apart on the metal table at the beginning of the episode? That was Gareth’s brother, Alex, and he did not seem phased by the fact that he was eventually going to be eating his brother for dinner. Gross.
