Diem Brown Using Medical Marijuana To Gain Weight Before Chemotherapy
Diem, who has been battling colon cancer, which spread, for over 10 years, said that marijuana has actually helped her gain some weight.
“I asked my doctor about it, and I’ll be totally honest – I had never smoked before in my life,” she tells People. “But I kept hearing everyone mention it. I’m taking all these synthetic drugs and they’re not working, so I thought, ‘I want to try it.’ “
She went on to say that it’s actually the “only thing that helps” her deal with the excruciating pain.
“I did the vaporizer and it took away the pain and I finally felt like I was able to eat,” she said. “That’s what got me a pound higher. It’s the only thing that helps.”
Diem: Cancer Found In Her Kidneys While Undergoing Chemo
Diem is in and out of the hospital every other week. The reality star said that while undergoing chemotherapy, doctors discovered that she had complete blockage of her left kidney and 75 percent of her right, due to swelling and tumors.
“I was so frustrated that it seems my body keeps throwing me curve balls over and over,” she said. “It’s hard to keep your spirit and your mind positive … But I’m glad we are catching these curve balls and fixing them, one by one.”
Diem’s family wrote the following on her MedGift page:
“It feels strange having to create this Diem support page on the very site she’s dedicated the past 7 years of her life building. Diem has always been a strong candidate for her own page, but she never wanted the focus of MedGift to be about her obstacles.”
Our hearts go out to Diem and her family right now.
