Congrats, Taylor! The 24-year-old songstress has just been named ‘Billboard’ magazine’s 2014 Woman of the Year. Taylor is the ONLY artist to ever receive that honor more than once!
It’s a proud day for Swifties everywhere. Taylor Swift has triumphed once again, with Billboard magazine declaring her “one of the most influential artists of her generation.” Go Tay!
Taylor Swift: Billboard Woman Of The Year — Singer Honored With 2014 Award
Taylor is on fire right now! Her prestigious award comes hot on the heels of the release of her chart-topping new single “Shake It Off.”
“As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the Billboard charts,” says Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. “Over the course of her career, she’s charted 60 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 — the most of any female artist since her debut in 2006. We are tremendously excited to be honoring her as the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year for the second time.”
Taylor was first named Billboard Woman of the Year in 2011, and was the youngest artist to ever receive the honor. Each year, Billboard chooses the female artist who “has shaped and inspired the music industry with her success, leadership and innovation over the past twelve months” — sounds like Taylor to us!
The 1989 artist will be recognized for her award at the 9th annual Billboard Women in Music Awards on Dec. 12 in New York City. We can’t wait!
Taylor Swift Joining ‘The Voice’ As Music Advisor
Taylor continues to expand her career; she’s set to make her debut as a music advisor on NBC’s The Voice on Oct. 27, the same day her highly anticipated 1989 album will make its big debut.
Taylor will coach the show’s talented contestants on their stage presence and vocal techniques. But she’s not stopping there — HollywoodLife.com has also learned exclusively that The Voice is prepping Taylor to be a future judge!
So HollywoodLifers, do YOU think Taylor deserves to be the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year? If not, who do YOU think the award should have gone to? Let us know!
