‘Vampire Diaries’ Recap: Hello, Gorgeous

Four months ago, Damon and Bonnie are still alive an holding hands after the big white light was cast over them. They start walking through the town square and find it completely empty. Where are they?! As they roamed the streets of Mystic Falls, they realized they were living the day of May 10, 1994.

Back to today, Matt was encountering Jeremy’s one night stand. Ah! Jeremy shirtless! It was the girl Elena attacked!

In Georgia, Stefan’s moving on with a girl that’s not Elena (or Caroline). Ivy’s cute and all, but we all know this is not for good.

Meanwhile, Elena was packing away everything that reminded her of Damon. (*Tears*) She still wanted Alaric to compel away any memories of Damon and that he ever did it. Elena wanted everyone to be on board with her decision and never tell her once it was all completed.

Caroline was not happy that Alaric and everyone else weren’t doing anything to get Bonnie and Damon back. Never thought I’d see the day that Caroline wanted Damon back in Mystic Falls.

However, there was one person who was trying to get Bonnie and Damon back, and he name was Enzo! He was trying to get answers by any means necessary from a lucky lady in a coat closet. She revealed that the Gemini Coven could maybe help him out. His digging and sexy time was interrupted by Caroline.

“Hello, gorgeous,” Enzo told Caroline. Man, I missed Enzo.

Forgetting Damon was going to be a task. They were deeply embedded in Elena’s memory and weren’t easily wiped away. She had to remember the first time she met on the road. “How did he make you feel?” Alaric asked.

“Like anything was possible,” Elena replied.

Alaric rewired that memory so Elena would only think she met a stranger on road.

Ugh, feeling all the feels!

Alaric also made Elena remember her first kiss with Damon. Taking me back to season three!

“I shouldn’t have let him,” Elena told Damon. (Boy, I’m glad she did.)

After Alaric compelled her to forget that moment, he asked her who Damon was. “He was my boyfriend. I loved him and he died,” she said. That wasn’t the moment she fell in love with Damon.

Surprisingly, Caroline didn’t want Elena to go through with her drastic decision. Caroline knew what what happen if (and when) Damon returned and Elena didn’t have a clue of who he was. (Talk about devastating.)

“For my own surival, I need to let him go,” Elena told Caroline.

Caroline couldn’t spend her whole day trying to convince Elena not to make the worst decision ever. She had an adventure with Enzo to go on! Caroline and Enzo headed to find Stefan, and there small talk was just oozing chemistry. Carenzo, anyone?

Stefan was making dinner for Ivy, but they had unexpected guests — Caroline and Enzo! This was the first time Caroline and Stefan had seen each other in four months. I’m going to need a minute.

‘Vampire Diaries’ Recap: Real Talk

It was dinner time with Stefan, Caroline, Enzo and Ivy! “You work at an auto repair shop?” Caroline asked Stefan?

“It’s relaxing,” Stefan said. LOL.

Because their chemistry was off the charts, Ivy asked if Caroline and Enzo were dating. I wish.

Meanwhile, Damon was dancing in the Salvatore house and making pancakes. He was also drinking bourbon. Bonnie had said that magic should be able to get them back to everyone, but there was one problem. Bonnie couldn’t do magic! They were living the same day over again. It was Damon’s personal, custom-built hell. What else is he hiding?

Alaric was still having a time trying to compel Elena to forget. Next memory up? The Miss Mystic Falls pageant.

“He saved me from being embarrassed by everyone,” Elena said. “That was the first time I felt it. How sexy he was.”

This still wasn’t the moment she fell in love with Damon. Elena thought it was after she learned about the sire bond or when they spent the night at the motel. Nope.

Caroline continued to argue with Stefan at dinner about his new life. Enzo decided to bring everyone (mostly just Ivy) up to speed by stabbing Stefan! Enzo was super pissed that Stefan had given up on Damon. Battle of the bromances!

Alaric made a quick call to Caroline to ask when Elena fell in love with Damon. “She fell in love with Damon when she was still with Stefan,” Caroline said. Forbes with the win!

‘Vampire Diaries’ Recap: It’s OK To Love Them Both

Stefan had overheard Caroline’s bombshell unfortunately. “It’s fine, Caroline. I really don’t care.”

Caroline couldn’t understand this side of Stefan. “You were the one who always cared,” she said.

Stefan confessed that he had to move on. He’d spent weeks going after every lead about Bonnie and Damon. Every lead was a dead end. He had to come to terms with their death in the only way he could.

What Caroline couldn’t understand was why he left her. “You couldn’t hear that I was completely falling apart without you?” Caroline cried. Stefan had never listened to her pleas. (What a tool.)

Over at Whittmore, Elena was getting desperate. Alaric confronted her about her honesty. At first, Elena disputed any claim that she fell in love with Damon while she was still with Stefan.

Then she remembered the wise words of Katherine Pierce: “It’s OK to love them both.”

Elena revealed that it was on her birthday when she first fell in love with Damon. The moment he gave her back Stefan’s necklace.

“Even though he loved me, he gave me the one thing that that represented hope for me and his brother.” (Crying all the tears right now.)

Damon was also feeling this moment, too. He found the necklace in Stefan’s room.

Elena was now ready for Alaric to go the extra step.

(No, Elena. Don’t do it. Don’t even think about it.)

Alaric compelled Elena to forget that moment. When Alaric asked her what she remembered about Damon now, she said, “Damon killed Jeremy.”

“He’s Stefan’s brother. He’s a monster. He died.”

(Okay, I’m currently losing my mind, along with the rest of the Delena fandom.)

After the terrible conversation with Stefan, Caroline cried her eyes out in the car. When Enzo saw she was hurting, he went back in the house to confront Stefan. Instead of a more calm approach, Enzo killed Ivy!

Enzo remembered that Damon had once promised Stefan an eternity of misery. “Now I get it,” Enzo said. “You’re not a brother to him. Brothers don’t give up.” AMEN!

Even though Elena had completely forgotten Damon, Jeremy was still holding on. He kept calling Bonnie’s cell phone, and it was tragic.

Matt had also come into contact with a potential big bad. It was Thomas Fell! He was killing vamps and taking names.

Over in 1994, Damon and Bonnie realized someone else was with them.

My money is on Katherine Pierce!

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of tonight’s Vampire Diaries? Can you believe Elena actually made Alaric compel her to forget Damon?! Who is with Bonnie and Damon? Let us know!
