It’s official. Twisty the Clown is the scariest ‘American Horror Story’ character ever. The character debuted on the ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ premiere, and now he is the subject of all my nightmares.
I’ve watched all three season of American Horror Story and I have never been as terrified of a character as I am of Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch). Clowns don’t generally scare me, but Twisty has changed that for me. Honestly, I don’t know if my nerves can handle this sadistic character for an entire season. (Okay, I would never stop watching AHS, but you get my point.)
‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’: Twisty The Clown
I’m pretty sure I’m never going to be able to unsee Twisty the Clown. Ryan Murphy wasn’t kidding around when he said Twisty the Clown was absolutely frightening.
On the premiere, we got our first glimpse of Twisty. Like many horror movies, Twisty creeps up on an unsuspecting couple. “What happened to the rest of your mask?” the girl asked. (**Shudders**)
After killing her boyfriend, Twisty runs after the girl and straight into my nightmares.
Yep, just like that.
Seriously, Twisty makes Pennywise and The Joker look tame. His smile will haunt my thoughts forever. I’m not quite sure what’s up with face, and I’m not sure I want to know. The dirty makeup, his creepy costume and deranged smile…how did someone come up with this?!
Twisty ends up kidnapping the girl and another boy, locking them up in cages in his house of doom.
One of the scariest things about Twisty is the fact that he doesn’t talk. Ever. He’s just completely silent. Gosh, that’s creepy x infinity.
On Murder House, Thaddeus was definitely the scariest looking character. It was Bloody Face on Asylum and the Minotaur on Coven. While all these characters made valiant efforts to draw up the scares, Ryan has saved the scariest for Freak Show.
Well, nothing will keep me from watching American Horror Story: Freak Show (and my beloved Evan Peters), but we’ll see where my anxiety ranks after watching 13 episodes with Twisty.
HollywoodLifers, is Twisty the Clown the subject of your nightmares as well? What did you think of the American Horror Story: Freak Show premiere? Let us know!
