Everybody knows that Taylor Swift uses her songwriting as a way to vent about her boy problems, however, you wont find any heartbreak songs on her upcoming album, ‘1989’. For the past few years, the pop-country artist has been focusing on her independence without having a man in her life!
Single and loving it — Taylor Swift, 24, sat down with People Magazine to talk about her personal life and the changes she has made over the past few years. She is doing so good on her own that even the thought of going out on a date has her heart racing — and not in a good way! Check out what else Tay has to say about romance, her new album, and her two adorable feline companions!
Taylor Swift Love: The Single Life
Over the past few years, Taylor has not only made some physical changes (stylish short hair) but she has also been working on inner happiness, which doesn’t involve a man.
“The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I’d try. it’s a really liberating and freeing time,” Tay told People.
On Taylor’s New Album And New Life
“I’ve changed a lot since I wrote my last album, Red. Emotionally speaking, 1989 is not a heartbreak record. My music is derived from what’s happening in my personal life, and I haven’t had my heart broken….I just haven’t been devastated in the last couple of years. I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am. When you’re in love you tend to prioritize that other person’s opinion and almost value it as much, if not more, than your own opinion. When you take the other person out of the scenario and you’re walking through life on your own, you end up figuring out what you actually like without anyone else’s input.”
Friends She Can Really Trust
“My group of friends are the most important thing to me right now….We all relate on different levels, but the one common thread between all of my friends is I can trust them. They aren’t really much for going out to bars or clubs or anything. They’re not really as interested in that and I’m not either, so it works out pretty well.”
Taylor On Future Dating
“I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack. It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that’s not relaxing or alluring for me…But I’m fine! I have two cats. That’s all I need.”
It looks like Tay is set on staying single for now until somebody really worthy comes along. Who do YOU think will be that perfect guy, HollywoodLifers? Is there anyone you would like to see Taylor dating? Comment below!
