‘Twin Peaks’ is coming back to TV, and it looks like Agent Dale Cooper may be tagging along. Kyle MacLachlan teased the world on Twitter, after Showtime officially announced the show’s return, as a limited series, and now fans are really gunning for him to reprise his role.
Cult favorite drama Twin Peaks is premiering with an all-new season in 2016, and although Showtime hasn’t made any casting announcements, the network did release a major hint that the original Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) is coming back for more mystery.
‘Twin Peaks’: Kyle MacLachlan Returning As Agent Cooper?
Twin Peaks is coming back to TV, as a limited, nine-episode series in 2016, but will the original cast reprise their roles?
If Kyle MacLachlan has anything to say about that, we can assume yes — because he did say something about it.
“Better fire up that percolator and find my black suit,” the actor, 55, tweeted on Oct. 6 with the hashtag “Twin Peaks,” just hours after Showtime announced the series’ return.

Kyle is, of course, referring to his character Agent Dale Cooper’s uniform and his affinity for a “damn fine cup of coffee.”
While Showtime told HollywoodLife.com, “no casting has been confirmed at this time,” the network did drop a major hint in their official statement: “Dig into some cherry pie and rejoice!”
If you’re a fan of Twin Peaks, you know that Dale doesn’t just like black coffee — he’s also really into cherry pie.
David Lynch & Mark Frost Team Up Again For ‘Twin Peaks’
Kyle returning would make sense because the 2016 revival picks up right where the original ended in 1991.
Twin Peaks creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine new episodes, which begin production in 2015, and David will direct the series.
