Stephen has reportedly been cut from the upcoming movie ‘Ted 2’ after the actor, best known for playing Reverend Eric Camden on ‘7th Heaven’, allegedly confessed to multiple counts of child molestation in a shocking, just-released recording.
The NYPD is currently investigating claims that Stephen Collins, 67, molested multiple children, aged 11 to 13, but it looks like the actor is already facing consequences. Stephen was reportedly fired from the sequel to Seth MacFarlane’s Ted almost immediately after the alleged recording of his confession surfaced online on Oct. 7.
‘Ted 2’ Fires Stephen Collins After Child Molestation Allegations
Stephen reportedly had a small role in Ted 2, which is currently in production, but his part has now been cut from the film, sources close to the project tell Entertainment Weekly.
It seems the alleged recording of Stephen, first obtained and published by TMZ, was proof “enough to lead MacFarlane and Universal Pictures to immediately end his involvement in the movie,” EW reports. Reps for the film have confirmed Stephen’s firing to the magazine.
It is still unknown what part Stephen was set to play in the flick, due out on June 26, 2015, but reps say it was small enough to cut without any “major disruptions” to the project.
Though his role in the film had not officially been announced, Stephen teased his fans about it on Oct. 4, tweeting:

Stephen Collins: ‘7th Heaven’ Dad Allegedly Confesses To Child Molestation
Stephen is in the middle of a nasty divorce battle with wife Faye Grant, 57, and she recorded him allegedly confessing to child molestation during a couples therapy session.
In the audio obtained by TMZ, the actor allegedly admits to molesting an 11-year-old girl who is related to his first wife, Marjorie Weinman.
“There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis,” someone who sounds like Stephen says on the tape. He also allegedly reveals that he exposed himself to the girl “a couple of times” from the ages of 11 to 13.
He also references a girl in Los Angeles, who he says he apologized to years later, and a 12- or 13-year-old girl in New York. Stephen reportedly confessed his alleged crimes to Faye in 2012, and she later taped his confessions in therapy. The NYPD is actively investigating the claims against Stephen.
