Time to swap your stilettos for sneakers! This fall, it’s all about sneakers — and leave it to RiRi to be one of the first to sport the trend! Want to get the look? SHOP for her exact pair of sneakers right here.
Rihanna, 26, is giving us all new inspiration for fall, all while showing us that it’s okay to leave our high heels behind. The singer recently stepped out in New York City wearing white New Balance sneakers with three different looks. While you may think that sneakers are just to wear to the gym, RiRi is giving them new life and giving us all a little push to start pairing sneakers with any look!
You may automatically associate New Balance sneakers with shoes that remain in your closet until you wear them to the gym, but this fall that couldn’t be further from the truth! Not only did we see sneakers all over the Fall 2014 runways, (hey, if Karl Lagerfeld is doing at Chanel it’s clearly time to embrace it!), but now the songstress is owning the sporty, chic style.
While Rihanna is known for pushing the fashion boundaries, she downplayed her style on a recent trip to New York. The signer stepped out in three looks — and the one thing they all had in common was a single pair of New Balance Sneakers, (and we absolutely love it).
Rihanna rocked a black crop top with distressed Levi shorts and sneakers. It’s a look that is perfect for running errands on a day out in the city. As the night turned into day, RiRi rocked a bright fuchsia Helmut Lang slip dress. Instead of going for a high heel shoe, she opted for the white sneakers again. The look was dressy, but also made Rihanna look extremely comfortable.
One of our fave looks on RiRi had to be a black mini, which she rocked with a long coat and sneakers. Not only did the sneakers dress down the mini, it also made it seem more effortless. Had she rocked it with a pair of pumps, the dress might’ve seemed to short or severe.
Love the white New Balance Sneakers as much as we do? You can get them here for just $80.
How YOU Can Style These Sneakers:
Like Rihanna, you can style these sneakers with a dressy or super causal look. If you don’t way to style these shoes with a dress, dry a flirty skater skirt with a crop top. Or if you don’t want to be too daring, you can pair the sneakers with jean shorts and a t-shirt, just like Rihanna. Either way, you should definitely embrace the comfortable and cool trend!
What do you think? Will you be rocking the sporty chic look this fall?
