Annabelle made Victorian dolls even more freakish than they already are, while we have Chucky to thank for the thought of ginger-haired, blue-eyed dolls keeping us up at night! Could the gruesome twosome come together for a horrifying movie anytime soon?
Don Mancini, who is one of the creators of the Child’s Play franchise and is responsible for our phobia of all things doll related, has revealed that he can totally see a Chucky/Annabelle crossover sometime in the future!
‘Chucky’ & ‘Annabelle’ Team Up Soon?
As if those things weren’t creepy enough, Don wants to bring the two iconic figures in the horror genre together for one, big, scare fest!
“I am hoping that at some future point we have Annabelle and Chucky team up. I can see that [even] in 20 years from now,” he told USA Today.
Thinking about it, alone, is giving us the chills!
Annabelle made her big screen debut in last year’s The Conjuring and reappeared in her own flick this weekend-which has grossed over a very cool $60 million. The Chucky films first came to our screens in 1988, when fictional serial killer Charles Ray Lee transferred his dying soul into a children’s doll to live on and wreck havoc, which in turn spawned five more films. The franchise has made well over $170 million at the box office.
Are Annabelle And Chucky Coupling Up?
Although Don didn’t really give away a possible plot line, he warned fans not to expect any romantic entanglements between the two!
“The bride of Chucky is going to be very upset if Chucky starts to stray,” mentioned Don. “If I were Annabelle, I’d be watching my back.”
What a shame!
If you were hyped up for this collaboration, we’d hate to be the ones to tell you that it may be a while before you see the pair on one screen! Don slipped in that he wants to write in Annabelle into the upcoming seventh Chucky film, but don’t bet on it.
“We would be into it, the only problem is that we are in different studios. That would probably be years worth of red tape to work it out,” says Don. “But if it all could be worked out, then yes, we’re very into it.”
We’re still hopeful this works out. Annabelle director John Leonetti worked in Child Play 3. So there’s already a little connection going on!
Tell us what you think about the freaky duo joining forces!
