Whoa. Are your favorite Avengers going to be left out of ‘Avengers 3’? After Marvel releases ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ in 2015, the studio may decide to go forth with the next installment without Captain America and Thor!
Marvel Studios may have a superhero scandal on their hands, if the fans have anything to say about a new report that claims Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth could be left out of the third Avengers movie, due to contract negotiations.
Marvel Studios: Will Captain America & Thor Be Left Out Of ‘Avengers 3’?
First of, let me just say that if Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth aren’t in Avengers 3, I’m not heading to theaters. Now that that’s settled, let’s get right to it.
Avengers: Age Of Ultron is set for a release date of May 1, 2015, and all of your favorite Avengers are safe — Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), plus two newbies Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) have already shot the entire movie.
However, after Age Of Ultron, Marvel may decide to pull some characters from the third film, including Captain America, Thor and Black Widow.
Why would they do that? It all comes down to contracts, reports Badass Digest. Both Chris’s existing deals with the studio are on the outs so in order to keep them under contract, without renegotiating, they’d have to be left out of a film so that they can appear in another installment, after Avengers 3. After leaving them out and focusing on new guys — possibly including Ant-Man and Doctor Strange — Marvel could then bring back Captain America and Thor for a later movie, which would be a huge deal.
This also brings up a new plot twist: what about Iron Man? Well, Robert Downey Jr. renegotiated his contract back in June 2013, which keeps him on for Ultron and 3, so he would be the only original Avenger who brings the new guys together.
HollywoodLifers, will you be mad if Captain America and Thor are left out of Avengers 3 or do you think it will be worth it and set up an awesome future film? Let us know!
