It sounds like three-time Superbowl champ, Tom Brady, 37, may be leaving the New England Patriots! Rumors have been swirling that the famed quarterback may have some major tension with coach, Bill Belichick and that he could be replaced by rookie quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo.
Tom Brady Quitting New England Patriots — Reports Of Tension
With new coaching staff and Jimmy slated to be Tom’s replacement, rumors have been swirling that the famed Quarterback is having some tension with his team.
“I love all those guys, my coaches,” Brady insisted after the Patriots game on Oct. 5, according to ESPN. “I’ve never had any tension with them, truthfully. It’s unfortunate that some things get said and talked about, especially when they don’t come from me, and I think that’s the — when you’re in the middle of an especially tough week with our team to deal with things that are really outside football that are very personal — very personal relationships that I’ve built up for a long time.”
While Tom denies any sort of tension before the team played on Oct. 5, Patriots president, Jonathan Kraft did acknowledge that there was some, “internal frustrations” regarding Tom. ESPN reports he said, “We haven’t played well. We haven’t played well all year,” Jonathan said. “So I think there’s that type of unhappiness, an internal frustration makes you want to overcome it.”
The site reports that while Tom has stated that he would like to continue to play for another four or five seasons, it may not be with the Patriots. A source told the site that it, “may be with another franchise unless Patriots owner Robert Kraft intercedes.”
It looks like the Patriots may have a plan for Tom though. Two sources told ESPN that, “former rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was drafted as Brady’s successor and the move could happen “sooner than later.”
SBNation reports that Tom’s frustration is nothing new and that it in fact started last year when Dante Scarnecchi retired after being with the team since 1991, where he most recently served as the offensive line coach. The site reports that Dante’s replacement, Dave DeGuglielmo has reduced Tom’s role and input. A source claimed, “patience and a conservative approach are what’s needed for the offense at this point.”
