The blind auditions of ‘The Voice’ came to a close on October 6 and each judge completed their teams of 12. We have the scoop on the final talented singers to join Team Gwen, Adam, Blake, and Pharrell!
The Voice blind auditions ended on a high note with Adam Levine completing his team first! The last few singers to join the judge’s teams were just as talented as the rest. This is going to be one tough season — America has some tough decisions ahead!
‘The Voice’ Blind Auditions End — Gwen & Pharrell Battle It Out
Matt McAndrew — Works at a grocery store and teaches voice lessons. Has two jobs and he said it is hard to juggle that and his music. He really wanted his mom to witness a chair turning for him. Aww, so sweet! “90 seconds could change my whole life,” he said before hitting the stage. He sang, “A Thousand Years,” a Twilight soundtrack fav! Adam turned around right away! Blake and Pharrell turned around shortly after! “I was really moved by what you did,” Adam said when the performance was over. The judges battled it out for his vote and Matt ended up choosing Adam!
Brittany Butler, 21 — Her grandfather got her a guitar as a kid and it changed her life. She sang, “The Girl From Ipanema.” Gwen loved her unique voice so much that she turned around first! Pharrell also turned around and for the first time, the new judges duked it out for a singer! “Ladies first,” Pharrell told Gwen. So nice — totally not the way Blake and Adam battle! “Gwen would be awesome for you too,” Pharrell said at the end of his speech. “It’s like watching a candy cane sword fight over here,” Adam said! In the end, Brittany opted to be on Team Pharrell!
Even Watson, 29 — Makes and sells beer but for his entire life, he has wanted to be a musician. “I know that this is going to be my last shot,” he said before his performance. “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” was the song he chose to sing for the judges. Unfortunately, no judges turned around. So sad!
Ryan Sill, 20 — Part of a very musical family. “My entire family is really excited that I have this opportunity,” he said. The song he sang was “Secrets.” Gwen hit her button right away! The crowd of girls went crazy as Ryan got into the song — his voice was amazing and his looks were on point! Gwen and Blake battled it out for the young hottie and he ended up choosing Gwen!
Fernanda Bosch, 17 — Music is a big part of her culture. Both her and her mom teach special needs children how to swim. “I have never had vocal lessons” she explains. She sang “I try” and Gwen turned around with Blake about half way through the performance. Fernanda is the same age as Gwen was when she started but she ended up choosing Blake as her coach!
Beth Spangler — Radiographer at a hospital. She loves to help kids and music is her passion. Her dad got into a bad motorcycle accident and he inspires her. She realized how much you need to fight for what you want because she watched him learn to walk again after the accident. She belted out “Best Thing I Never Had.” Blake and Adam turned around at the beginning of her performance. The other two judges turned around right at the end! She was the first singer of the night to get all four judges to turn around! Beth went with team Adam! That brings him up to 12 singers and his team is complete!
Erin Kim –He plays acoustic soul hip-hop music. He sang “Latch” and put his own spin on the popular tune. Erin said he hopes to join team Pharrell but unfortunately, none of the judges turned around! “When you come back, maybe do a song that can display more,” Adam advised him.
Griffin, 23 — “There were Christmas’s where we didn’t have presents under the tree,” he explains about his difficult upbringing. “I moved to Nashville to become a musician, making a team would mean the world to me.” He sang the catchy Michael Buble’ song, “It’s A Beautiful Day.” Gwen, Blake, and Pharrell fought to have Griffin on their team but he chose Team Pharrell! Griffin completes Team Pharrell at 12 singers!
Chandra Knudson — works as a nanny. She is from a small town and she has a crazy obsession with Batman — she even has a bat-mobile! “Getting a chair to turn around would be huge,” she said. She sang the country tune, “Hard To Love.” As the spots become scarce, the judges are more reluctant to push their buttons, and sadly, nobody turned around for Chandra.
Mayra Alvarez — Jake Worthington from last season is from her city and he had an encouraging message for her before she performed! “I am here today because of my dad”, she said. She sang “Human Nature” by Michael Jackson. Gwen and Blake both pushed their buttons and she went with team Gwen — finishing up her team!
Justin Johnes, 15 — makes YouTube covers for friends and this was his first real on-stage performance! He sang, “Let Her Go” and girls were swooning over his charm. Blake was the only one with a spot left and he turned around! Justin became the final singer to join team Blake!
The battle rounds are coming up next and judging from the teaser at the end of the show, it is going to be one heck of a battle!
