‘Once Upon A Time’ is getting chillier with each passing week, and the Oct. 5 episode featured Emma thisclose to an icy death. Plus, someone in Storybrooke has a surprising connection to Anna!
Elsa (Georgina Haig) has made quite the presence in Storybrooke. On the Oct. 5 episode of Once Upon A Time, Emma and Elsa get trapped together, Anna (Elizabeth Lail) meets up with a familiar face in the Enchanted Forest and the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) makes her first appearance!
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: Little Bo Peep Has Lost Her Sheep (& Her Marbles)
Elsa was not letting go of the fact that she wanted Anna back. No one was allowed to leave Storybrooke until Anna was safely back with Elsa.
In order to trace Anna’s footsteps, we went back to her time in the Enchanted Forest. She showed up on the doorstep of none other than Charming (or David, whatevs)! Check out that long, brown hair!
Despite her attempts to hide her identity, Charming knew she was Kristoff’s fiance. She was allowed to stay in his barn before starting the next phase of her journey. However, a little run-in with an evil Bo Peep would put a snag in her trip. Bo Peep wanted money from Charming, and if she didn’t get it, she would take his farm. (Bo Peep as a warlord? Whodathunkit?)
After her recent breakup with Robin, Henry wanted to send Regina a sweet gift basket. Before he could show his mother his gift, a crow arrived with a message. Henry took Regina’s note as her saying she didn’t want to see him, but she just needed time alone.
Thanks to Elsa, the power was down in Storybrooke. Naturally, daddy-daughter duo Charming and Emma went on a search to find out what happened. Meanwhile, Elsa was lurking.
Hook soon joined the search. The sexy pirate was excited about their second “date,” even if it wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. Hook wasn’t going to let Emma down easy about having to be patient.
Geez, Emma. JUST GO ON A DATE ALREADY.
“I think it’s about time we have a little talk about your intentions with my daughter,” Charming told Hook. Um, I can’t wait to hear this.
“Whatever we become is as much up to her as it is to me,” Hook replied. Amen, brotha!
While Charming and Hook were having a chat, Emma found Elsa behind her icy wall. Emma agreed to help find Anna, but Elsa freaked and went ice crazy!
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: Ice, Ice Baby
Hook and Charming tried everything to get through the ice, but to no avail. Elsa wasn’t going to let Emma go until she had her sister back. She was willing to freeze the whole town and everyone in it. Now that’s being a little overdramatic.
Needless to say, Hook was so worried.
Back in the Enchanted Forest, Anna taught Charming how to fight, as she promised. When the going got tough, Charming gave up. Anna tried to explain to Charming that he couldn’t hide from his problems, he needed to face his battles head-on. Anna was later kidnapped and branded by Bo Peep. She wanted to be paid or handed Charming’s farm.
Charming put his new skills to the test. He fought Bo Peep and ripped Anna’s necklace from her neck. He demanded to know where she had taken Anna, but the Arendelle princess wasn’t far off.
He headed to the barn and Anna jumped him after believing he was an intruder. He thanked her for saving him and convincing him to live his life. He didn’t want to be trapped in a life he didn’t want anymore. Team Anna for the win!
Since Regina was MIA, everyone was saying Snow was the new mayor. Snow, Sleepy and other Storybrooke residents also tried their hand at figuring out how to turn the power back on.
So, Emma and Elsa were trapped inside their igloo. While Emma was slowly freezing, the cold didn’t bother Elsa. (Frozen reference!)
Emma soon realized that Elsa couldn’t control her powers. Elsa thought Emma’s magic could actually get them out of there, but frozen fingers pretty much hindered that possibility useless.
Charming and Hook quickly headed to Gold’s shop and demanded to know about the necklace Elsa was referring to. Once Charming got glimpse of the snowflake sparkler, he knew exactly who Anna was. Charming headed to the butcher shop to find Bo Beep. He grabbed her crook to help find Anna.
‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: There’s A New Queen In Town
Hook and Charming got word from Elsa that Emma was freezing to death. Hook frantically started to use his nifty icy pick to try and get to Emma.
Charming pleaded with Elsa to save Emma. He revealed that he knew Anna and she had saved him. He wanted Elsa to do the same for Emma.
And just like that, Elsa’s powers worked!
Upon her escape, Emma fell into Hook’s arms. (OMG. OMG. OMG.) He picked her up and cradled her. (I’m currently freaking out. Captain Swan forever!)
Charming also told Elsa that he owed Anna everything and he was going to do whatever it took to find her.
As we all expected, Anna left Charming’s farm and headed to see Rumplestiltskin. Basically, she’s in big trouble.
In the present day, Elsa and Charming used Bo Peep’s crook to try and find Anna. They didn’t find her specifically, but they did find a heartbeat. Anna is alive!
Meanwhile, Hook and Emma were cuddling for warmth and it was the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.
Charming gave one of his epic speeches about always being there for the people he loves and it registered with Henry. He ran to Regina’s and told her that he wouldn’t leave her. She finally opened her door and hugged Henry. So sweet!
Elsa and Emma still couldn’t figure out why her ice castle/igloo wasn’t melting. “I’m the only one with this power,” Elsa said. “I should be able to undo.”
Except you’re not the only one, Elsa. Why? Because the SNOW QUEEN is in town!
Anyone else get the feeling that the Snow Queen is the one to really have Anna?
