Kate gets super candid in a brand new interview about her relationship with her favorite co-star — and reveals the relationship that Jack and Rose had behind the scenes!
17 years after we watched the Titanic’s heartbreaking voyage and became obsessed with Jack and Rose’s whirlwind love story, Kate Winslet gets super candid in an interview with Marie Claire UK and divulges whether anything ever happened between her and Leonardo DiCaprio!
Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio Kissed? — She Tells All
The two became Hollywood’s golden on-screen duo after they stole our hearts on the Titanic. The ionic film showed the star crossed lovers locked in the most passionate romance ever. They recreated their on-screen magic in 2008 in Revolutionary Road and Leo even walked Kate down the aisle at her 2012 wedding! This is all the reason why our hearts break knowing that nothing could have ever happened between the pair!
“He always saw me as one of the boys. I’ve never really been a girly-girl,” she told the mag. “It’s so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did.”
In case you didn’t know, snog means kiss. How did they never kiss?!
Behind Their Heartfelt Romance
But it’s all good, as Kate reveals that they remain the closest of friends.
“I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing,” she said. “We needed each other to lean on, because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours and it was a shock to the system.”
The two are known for gushing about one another and for their deep admiration and support for each other.
Early last year, Leo went on record to talk about the special connection the two share, “We laugh at the same things. She never lets me take myself seriously, even if I wanted to. We have a special magic.”
And just when we thought they couldn’t get any cuter! Are you bummed they’ve never been romantic, HollywoodLifers? Or do you think they make great friends? Let us know!
