Although our invitation to George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s wedding was lost in the mail, we got a sneak peak into just what delicious cocktail was being served at their wedding celebration in Venice.
It’s no secret that George Clooney, 53, has great taste in practically everything, but this Hollywood heartthrob also has an amazing palate. For his wedding to the gorgeous Amal Alamuddin, 36, the newlyweds and their 100 guests sipped on a tasty treat.
George Clooney’s Hotel Drink — How To
Everyone knows what the bride and groom wore –Amal shone in a gorgeous lace wedding gown by Oscar de la Renta and her hubby George was dapper in Armani. The couple picked the perfect classic Hollywood tune, “Always,” sang by Nora Segal as their signature song and A Listers, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Emily Blunt and supermodel Cindy Crawford were among the famous faces, but do you know what was being poured into all those drink glasses at the hotel?
According to Kelli Delaney of KDHamptons, we now know that during his wedding weekend, Georges’s friends invented a special new drink, the “Amalini.” It is the combination of the traditional Belini with an added shot of George’s own award-winning Casamigos Tequila, which was enjoyed throughout the celebration in Venice. Yum!
Added guests who were there to toast to the new bride and groom were George’s best friend and co-founder of Casamigos, Rande Gerber, Bono and John Krasinski.
This is the hotel’s famous drink and with a quick shake of readily available ingredients, you too can sip on the delicious exclusive Clooney cocktail too.
“Good Night Amigos“
1 1/2 oz. Casamigos reposado Tequila
1 1/3 oz. Cranberry juice
3-4 drops of Angostura bitters
1/2 Unpeeled lime, diced into small pieces 1/2 tbsp. Cane sugar
1 stripe cucumber peel
1 ginger round
Combine all ingredients into an iced mixing glass, shake for 10 counts, ﬁne strain all contents into a rocks glass. Serve with ice flakes. Garnish with a lime wheel.
One thing is for sure, it sounds delectable and yes, George has amazing taste.
