Bino has finally dropped his much-anticipated mixed tape! On Oct. 2, the rapper released 11 new tracks and fans are absolutely raving!
Childish Gambino, whose real name is Danny Glover, released “STN MNT,” a mix tape, which features 11 songs! He also teased the release of his EP, Kauai, which includes seven new tracks! Plus, he opened up in a new interview, revealing that both are based on personal experiences. Listen below!
Childish Gambino’s Mixtape Drops
Named after the Georgia suburb he calls home, Stone Mountain, Childish revisits his roots with the album that has a strong connection to his Atlanta identity. The tone of the album doesn’t mimic Childish’s hilarious Community persona.
“The Gangsta Grillz mix tape is sort of like — it’s a dream. And the dream ends when I wake up in Kauai,” he said in an interview with MTV. “And they go into each other — it’s one complete project. You can download the mix tape, and you can go buy the EP.”
He says that some of the proceeds from the EP will be divided among two causes — keeping the Hawaiian island of Kauai beautiful and help “getting audio and visual device for cops policy”.
Childish Gambino’s New Music
Childish announced the mix tape on Twitter on Aug. 27 with a fairly vague, “gangsta grillz presents: stnmtn/kauai mix tape,” and a while later took to instagram to reveal the cover art.
The album isn’t yet available on iTunes, but the website promises that users will be able to download the tracks “soon”. If you’re feeling pretty restless and want to give the mix tape a listen right now, try out the stream right here on Hollywood Life and don’t forget to let us know what you think!
