There’s nothing like a little Schadenfreude to brighten the days of Twitter users everywhere! When Teresa Giudice was sentenced on Oct. 2 to 15 months in prison for over 40 counts of fraud, Twitter had a field day, celebrating her inevitable time in the big house. How rude!
On Oct. 2, Twitter forgot that Teresa Giudice, 42, has four children and that she didn’t set fire to a house full of puppies. The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star was sentenced to 15 months in prison for her role in committing over 40 counts of fraud alongside husband Joe Giudice, 42. Indeed, while Teresa would find a lot of support on Twitter, she would find even more haters celebrating her jail term or cracking jokes.

The average couple wouldn’t get family consideration when it came to sentencing why is Teresa’s family so special. They’re thieves #rhonj

Play nice, people!
Theresa Giudice Sentenced To 15 Months; Husband Joe Sentenced To 41
While it’s fairly problematic to side with the criminal, it’s not nice and certainly not necessary to hate so much on a couple with four children. They made some terrible mistakes and affected a lot of lives, but they didn’t kill anybody! They committed a white collar crime, and now they’re paying the price. No need to dance in front of their jail cells!
Not only was Teresa sentenced to 15 months, but her husband was sentenced to 41 and was ordered to pay immediate restitution. That’s a long time to be away from one’s children, and they’re paying the price. Aren’t they going through enough?
HollywoodLifers, what do you think? Are people being too harsh?
