Get ready to laugh out loud! The ‘Saturday Night Live’ alumni will be lending their voices to the ‘Angry Birds’ movie, an animated film adaptation of the video game franchise.
‘Angry Birds’ Movie: Cast Adds Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader & More
The Saturday Night Live alumni have joined the high-profile cast, which already includes Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Kate McKinnon, Keegan-Michael Key, Jillian Bell, Tony Hale, Latin musician Romeo Santos and stand-up comedians Hannibal Buress and Cristela Alonzo.
Jason will voice Red, while other casting specifics include Josh as Chuck, Danny as the explosive Bomb, Bill as a pig, Maya as Matilda and Peter as the Mighty Eagle, according to Rolling Stone.
This awesome news was revealed with a visual teaser by Sony Pictures through the franchise’s app.
“With two and a half billion gamers around the world, Angry Birds is one of those brands that can drive massive fan engagement,” Dwight Caines, Sony Pictures’ president of theatrical marketing, said in a statement. “That’s why we wanted to bring this unlock to the fans first.”
The casting news was announced when the game reached “1 billion sling shots.”
‘Angry Birds’: Movie Release Date
Angry Birds’ release date is scheduled for July 1, 2016.
