‘A to Z’: Costars Kiss & Tell — Were There Awkward On-Set Moments?

‘A to Z’ is the season’s cutest new rom-com. The 30-minute series, starring ‘How I Met Your Mother’ alum Cristin Milioti, will warm your heart with a sweet, modern-day romance. We swipe right!

Online dating is awkward, but NBC’s new comedy A to Z somehow takes the awkward out of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Right. Ben Feldman and Cristin Milioti play strangers who keep running into each other, and perhaps, fall for each other. The TV couple tells us EXCLUSIVELY if there were awkward on-set moments, plus we’ve got a sneak peek. Click to watch the first time that Andrew (Ben) meet Zelda (Cristin)!

‘A to Z’: Andrew & Zelda Make TV’s Sweetest Rom-Com Couple

Andrew is an online dating employee who falls for lawyer Zelda. (Get it…A to Z?)

When Zelda lands in his office, the pair meets (watch above), but there’s a twist: it’s not the first time they’ve meet. Throughout the pilot, we see the young couple try to impress each other, ignore each other and finally, begin to fall for each other, and the rest of the season will show their day-by-day relationship.

“It’s very heartwarming, but it’s very, very funny,” Cristin, who rose to fame as the Mother in HIMYM, exclusively tells Her costar Ben, who’s known for his work on Mad Men, tells us that Cristin was a big reason why he chose the part.

“Everybody on the show is great — genuinely. They’re all better than I am, and funnier than I am so you have everyone but me to look forward on the show!” he jokes. “It feels like one of those old, traditional, great, romantic comedies, but through a new lens. Everybody loves it. Everybody gets that warm, happy feeling around it.”

Playing a new couple on-screen provides plenty of moments for awkward make out scenes, right? Wrong.

“It’s awkward to make out with someone you didn’t know a couple days ago, always,” Ben tells with a laugh. “Then she was telling me about her boyfriend and I was talking about my wife, and they’d be like, ‘Oh sorry, action!’ But there wasn’t anything really awkward. I think when you’re surrounded by that many funny people, I think awkward situations happen for unfunny people.”

We agree. This pair is charmingly awkward in the best way possible…and funny!

A To Z premieres Thursday, Oct. 2 (9:30/8:30c) on NBC.
