‘The Voice’ Blind Auditions — Judges Duke It Out For Best Contestants
Katriz Trinidad, 15 — Kicked things off on a high note! This young singer definitely has what it takes to go far in the competition. She sang “At Last” and killed it! Gwen, Blake, and Pharrell all turned their chairs around within the first few seconds. Blake said, “You deserve to win this thing!” Katriz ended up picking to be on team Pharrell!
Ethan Butler, 25, Chicago — “I would love to make music a full time gig,” he explained. His sister has cerebral palsy and autism and she inspires him. Ethan sang “Beneath Your Beautiful.” Adam and Blake were the only ones who turned around — talk about a showdown! It was a tough decision but he picked Adam as his coach!
Tanner Linford, 17 — Auditioned in a past season but didn’t make it. This time, he sang “When You Say Nothing At All.” It seemed as if no judges were going to turn around again, but Blake hit his button at the very last second! “You are meant to be on team Blake,” the country star judge told Tanner!
Roem Baur, 37 — Pursued opera in college. He sang “Pretty Woman” and unfortunately, the judges were not impressed. Maybe next time, Roem!
Jean Kelley, 29 — The summer before she started middle school, her mom passed away. “Already Gone” was the song she chose to showcase her vocal talent. Gwen and Blake pushed their buttons! Gwen complimented Jean on her range and her hair-do and when it came time to make a decision, she chose team Gwen!
Chris Jamison, 20 — Sang “Gravity” and Blake pushed his button right away, immediately followed by Pharrell. When Chris hit his first high note, Adam turned his chair! Gwen turned her chair in the last second! The judges battled it out and Chris ended up choosing Adam! Blake said he was happy for Adam, “Any time he can get one and it can build his ego back up, I am happy to see him feeling good about himself.”
Craig Boyd — Wants to be able to take care of his son by being a successful musician. “The Whiskey Ain’t Working” was the song he decided to sing for the judges. Blake was obviously the first one to turn around given the country genre. Pharrell also turned around, although he really had no chance — he picked Blake!
Tini Grey, 31 — Sang “Sara Smile” and he was amazing! Sadly, nobody turned around!
Toia Jones — Grew up singing in the church choir. Her fathers death was the hardest thing she had to overcome in life. She sang “One And Only.” Pharrell and Adam were the only ones who turned around. Pharrell made his speech and tried to cut Adam off by not giving him a chance to speak — things started to heat up! Toia ended up choosing Pharrell!
Amanda Peers, 29 — Sang “Put The Gun Down.” Gwen turned around right away! No other judges turned around, and therefore, Amanda joined team Gwen! “You had really good stage presence, the whole package,” Gwen told her.
Jonathan Wyndham, 22, — He closed the night by singing “Say Something.” All of the judges turned around for his heartfelt performance. He said he has been listening to Adam’s music since he was a kid and thats why he picked him as his coach!
