There was no shortage of talent on the first night of week two for ‘The Voice’ blind auditions. Even the singers who didn’t make it were amazing — this is going to be a tough season and we cannot wait!
Adam Levine, 35, and Blake Shelton, 38, continued to battle it out for the best while Gwen Stafani, 44, and Pharrel, 41, played nice to build their teams! The night was anything but boring! We have all the details about the talented contestants of week two of the blind auditions!
‘The Voice’ Season 7: The Blind Auditions Week Two
John Martin, 25, Chicago: The young singer said he enjoys playing music at church with his dad. He impressed the crowed with his version of “Sweet Pea” and Blake turned around first. Adam was the only judge who did not turn around.“I’m thinking this is a good looking man,” Blake said after the performance was over — and John ended up choosing to be on team Blake!
Jessie Pitts, Birmingham, Alabama: She is from family of 8 and lives in a barn. Jessie sang “The Story” and Gwen was so impressed, she turned around first. Blake also turned around and tried to persuade her to join his team by saying, “Your voice was like a bowl of lucky charms, marshmallows only.” Guess his speech didn’t work because she chose Gwen!
Michael Stein, 62: He is a canter who leads prayers in the Jewish community. He said, “music really touches me very deeply.” Unfortunately, his rendition of “The devil went down to Georgia” did not impress the judges and nobody turned around. So sad!
Ricky Manning, 19, Cape Cod: He did not go to college so he could pursue his music and he plays on the streets of NY. The singer, who was totally easy on the eyes, sang “Love Me Again.” Pharrell pressed his button half way through followed by Blake. While deciding which team to chose, Pharrell said, “You cant go wrong” and Blake responded, “You cant be that nice.” Nice guys finish first because Ricky chose Pharrell!
Jeremy Cole, Mistee Merit, and Samantha Sampson were all among the contestants who didn’t get picked.
Kelli Douglas: Kelli has a son and is a teacher, but quit to pursue music. “I know this is what I am suppose to do,” she said. The song she chose to sing was “Danny’s song.” Adam tuned around first while Gwen said she wanted to hear more. Adam flirted to get picked — he told her she was beautiful — and it worked! She picked Adam.
Blessing Offor, 35, New York, NY: This inspirational singer was born with no vision in one eye and lost vision in the other eye when he was 9 due to an accident.“Music has been the thing that I’ve wanted to do no matter what was going on in my life,” he said. He sang “Just The Two Of Us”. All four judges pushed their buttons at the very end and Gwen said he sounded a lot like Pharell — that’s why she liked it so much! He ended up picking Pharrell, although it really seemed as if he was going to pick Blake!
Troy Richie, 21, California: He likes to entertain people with his impersonations — as well as with his amazing voice! His version of “Of My League” was a-maz-ing. Gwen was the only one who pushed and therefore, he was automatically on her team!
Cole Wilkinson 16: He said, “music is the one thing I enjoy.” The song he performed was “Classic,” and although he was a great performer for such a young age, nobody pushed their buttons. After they turned around, Cole showed them a little of what he did behind their backs. They got mad because they couldn’t see him perform before and if they had, they would have picked him! “Im going to work on it and come back next year” he said as he was tearing up after the performance.
Mia Pfirrman, 19: Music is a huge part of her life — her parents were in a band! She sang, “Unconditionally.” All 4 judges turned around. “The fact that you can perform that song live is amazing” Blake said. “It wouldn’t have been fair for you to go home” Adam added. She ended up choosing Adam!
Alessandra Castronovo: She was amazing and picked Adam!
Bree Fondacaro, Orange County, CA: Her dad is a little person who plays piano and is a vocal teacher. She sang, “It ain’t me babe” and Blake was the only one who pushed his button, even though Gwen said she was very close to pushing!
The night ended on a high note with Anitta Antoinette, 24, Boston: She auditioned back in season three. During this episode, she talked about suffering from severe stage fright — but when she started singing, you could not tell! She sang a unique and beautiful version of “Turn The Lights Down Low.” All four judges pushed their buttons in the very beginning. It was time for Anitta to chose a judge and Gwen made the comment of the night –“What have you been doing since Blake and Adam didn’t chose you?” Burn! Of course, Anitta chose Gwen!
