It’s finally here! Lorde has been teasing the release of ‘Yellow Flicker Beat,’ the song which will be in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1,’ and on Sept. 29, she finally let us hear it!

Of course, we were immediately obsessed when Lorde Instagrammed a pic that revealed the single was finally available. “Yellow Flicker Beat” is the first single off the new soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1! Listen to it here.

‘Mockingjay – Part 1’: Lorde Releases ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’

We’re totally obsessing over this, and it’s about time it’s released. The 17-year-0ld singer has spent the whole week posting Instagram pictures revealing lyrics of the song, and on Sept. 29, she posted “and this is the red orange yellow flicker beat sparkling up my heart.” It was captioned with, “yellow flicker beat official audio out now.”

The song is definitely dark, in true Lorde-fashion, but totally perfect for the film. This is her first single since Pure Heroin was released.

We told you that Lorde is curating the rest of the artists who will sing on the soundtrack, but she’s been very quiet about who that will be. The film hits theaters Nov. 21, and let’s just say, this has gotten us even more excited.

The song, written for the film and produced by famed Paul Epworth, definitely has “flicker beats” scattered throughout, which gives it amazing personality and really fitting. We can just see Katniss while listening to it!

However, we want to know what you think, HollywoodLifers? Is “Yellow Flicker Beat” perfect for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1? Do you think it’s perfect or did it fall flat? Let us know!
