If you’re looking for a film to see this weekend, Miles Teller definitely wants to suggest ‘Two Night Stand.’ The actor told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY how and why the indie rom-com is better than all the rest.
Miles Teller, 27, co-stars in a hilarious and sexy romantic comedy about a one night stand gone wrong, Two Night Stand. At the red carpet premiere of the film, Miles opened up about what makes this rom-com different than all the rest — and how it’s integrity will help pull the dread out of the words “rom-com” for moviegoers everywhere.
Miles Teller: ‘Two Night Stand’ Stands Alone Among Other Rom-Coms
If you’re into funny movies with characters that don’t totally bore you with predictable storylines, then Miles Teller has a message for you about his new film, Two Night Stand.
HollywoodLife.com spoke to the star of the film on Sept. 16 at the red carpet premiere, where he joined his leading lady Analeigh Tipton to celebrate the film’s release. When we asked what made this film so special and different from the rest, Miles gave an extremely honest answer.
“I think this is one that hits all those right buttons. It’s just very witty. For me, for every comedy, I just have to think that it’s pretty funny.”
Miles also explained that people have really started to dread romantic comedies because they are “poorly written” and they think the people in them “can’t act.”
“A romantic comedy is like a genre of the past few years that’s kind of been put down or people don’t think that it’s written – it doesn’t have a whole lot of integrity,” he explained, sharing that he loved the Two Night Stand script.
“It’s an interesting concept that kind of reminded me more of theater than film.”
And you know what? He’s right. HollywoodLife.com pre-screened the film and it was such a good time. Not only was it really funny to watch, but Miles and Analeigh have an incredible chemistry, and it’s probably one of the first films to have a realistic take on modern-day dating. Miles Comes Under Fire For Controversial ‘Divergent’ Comments
Two Night Stand is being released right on the heels of Miles’ first big controversy as a major star.
However, once the quote went viral, Miles was quick to respond and stated that his statement was more-or-less taken out of context.
“I’m proud to be a part of Divergent franchise and love all of Peter’s Princesses,” he wrote on Twitter on Sept. 24.
The good news is that Miles is scheduled to be in the film’s sequel, Insurgent, and we can’t wait to see Peter back in action alongside Shailene Woodley‘s Tris!
