Directioners are not happy — and we don’t really blame them. On September 23, Jon Stewart brought correspondent Jessica Williams onto ‘The Daily Show,’ to report on fake terrorist groups. Did she go to far by throwing a member of One Direction into the conversation with ISIS and Al Qaeda?
Jon Stewart may have just crossed a serious line. In a skit during The Daily Show, a correspondent joked about a new terrorist group which included “one member each from ISIS, al-Nusra, Al Qaeda, Hamas, One Direction and the Zetas drug cartel.” While they didn’t name Zayn Malik, 21, by name, Directioners are going crazy on Twitter, calling the show out for referencing his Pakistani descent!
‘Daily Show’: Zayn Malik’s A Terrorist?
The Comedy Central hit show is known for pressing the limits, but calling out a One Direction member for being a terrorist — regardless if it was directed to Zayn or not — isn’t a good idea.
Watch the clip above, then read the reactions below — the hashtag #TheDailyShowGoneTooFar immediately began trending on Twitter:
