‘Modern Family’ Sarah Hyland — Leaning On Cast After Matt Prokop Restraining Order
It looks like the Modern Family cast really is as close as a family! Sarah has certainly been going through a rough patch after she filed a restraining order against Matt, who allegedly “choked” her.
Since she has removed herself from the abusive relationship, the young actress has been tweeting and Instagramming pictures of her beloved cast and urging people to watch the Emmy Award winning show!
Sarah Hyland Won’t Date For Awhile After Matt Prokop Restraining Order
On Sept. 24, she took to Instagram to share an adorable photo of the entire cast at the Emmy’s — with their award in hand. She captioning the photo,”Tonight’s the night!!! Season 6 premiere of #modernfamily on abc 9/8c!!!! I can’t believe I’ve been working with this show for almost 6 years! I love these people with all of my heart and will never forget this blessing of a job ❤️️ Hope you all enjoy the new season!!”
The stunner was also busy on Twitter during the season 6 premiere asking fans if they were watching and if they loved the premiere.
It looks like Sarah really is in good spirits!
Sarah Hyland Files Restraining Order Against Matt Prokop
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, TMZ obtained the restraining order documents that reveal that Matt verbally and physically abused Sarah during the last four years of their five-year relationship.
In the upsetting documents, Sarah claimed that back in May 2014, Matt held her up against a car while they were arguing over her outfit where he allegedly choked her and called her, “c**t, c**t, c**t.”
Sarah said in the docs, “His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life.” According to TMZ, she noted that she suffered voice injuries and had a “very sore throat following this event.”

According to the doc, Sarah’s on-screen mom, Julie Bowen actually witnessed some of the abuse. TMZ reports that Sarah also asked Julie to come to her house and help her, “peacefully end the relationship.” Allegedly though, when Matt arrived at the house and realized what was happened, he “ran outside into the backyard and began screaming” he even threw a lighter at Sarah.

On September 19, 2014, Ms. Hyland obtained a Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Order against Matthew Prokop. The documents filed speak for themselves. Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms. Hyland not to comment on the matter. We request that you respect the parties’ privacy during this time.
