An upcoming photography exhibit in Chicago has us wondering whether Hollywood legend, John Malkovich, is in fact gearing up for a career in modeling!
He’s an actor, director, producer and writer. And now, the multifaceted, John Malkovich, 60, can add muse to his ever-increasing list of accomplishments! Photographer, Sandro Miller, has used the star to help recreate a total of 35 iconic images.
John Malkovich: Photographs Re-enacted
The exhibit titled, “Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich,” pays the ultimate homage to the capacity and versatility of the icon. Gushing about John to Entertainment Weekly, Sandro says, “This whole body of work it just to me, and I hope for others, is to really see just how deep this man is and just how brilliant and how much of a genius he is when it comes to performance, to performance art.”
Talk about admiration.
The photos are so flawless that it would seem photoshopped, but each one of the photographs was reconstructed in their entirety!
The display includes John holding what are supposed to be two super-sized roses covering his chest, a la “Marilyn in Pink Roses,” and him locked in a naked embrace with “Yoko Ono,” with respect to the Annie Leibovitz captured “John Lennon and Yoko Ono.”
A couple of historical portraits are thrown into the mix, with John channeling Che Guevara as well as the famed “Migrant Mother.”
What else is in the works?
News of this fun project comes on the heels of reports saying that the actor was spotted looking pretty lethargic at Spain’s San Sebastian Film Festival. But it’s clear that the actor remains dynamic as ever!
Taking a lighter approach to his work recently, John will be heard voicing one of the adorable characters in the upcoming “Penguins of Madagascar!”
The exhibition is set to open to the public on Nov. 7 at Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago, but a few photos are already out online. Tell us what you think about the actor’s newest role!
