Say it ain’t so, DeAndre Cole! Longtime ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Kenan Thompson is reportedly leaving the show after the upcoming season wraps up. Here’s what we know.
The Saturday Night Live shake-up continues. After newcomers Noël Wells, John Milhiser and Brooks Wheelan were booted from the show after just one season, a new report claims that longtime cast member Kenan Thompson, 36, is bowing out after Season 40. So, as DeAndre would say: What’s up with that?!
Is Kenan Thompson Leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’? — Star Rumored To Exit SNL
Rest easy, Kenan fans! Although TMZ claims that Kenan “is leaving on great terms” and planning to move to Los Angeles with his wife, model Christina Evangeline, and three-month-old baby girl, Georgia Marie Thompson, after this season, HollywoodLife.com has learned that this report is 100 percent FALSE.
An SNL spokesperson tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that this report is “incredibly inaccurate as the season hasn’t even started and cast decisions aren’t made until the end of the season.”
Hopefully this means that Kenan won’t be going anywhere for a long time to come. And that is great, because where would we be without his spot-on Steve Harvey impressions?
Kenan Thompson: Is He In Talks For A New Show?
TMZ’s report also claims that Kenan is in talks for a new show, and that he actually wanted to leave SNL a year ago but showrunner Lorne Michaels, 69, persuaded him to stay due to the “massive turnover” this season.
So HollywoodLifers, are YOU glad Kenan is staying on SNL for the foreseeable future? Or would you rather see him on a new show? Let us know how you feel!
