Season six of ‘The Good Wife’ finally premieres tonight, Sept. 21. HollywoodLife.com got the chance to talk to Ben Rappaport, who plays Carey Zepps, and he told us EXCLUSIVELY what to expect from the hit CBS show this season.
We have so many questions going into season six of The Good Wife. First and foremost, will Alicia (Julianna Marguiles) be running for State’s attorney? HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY from star Ben Rappaport whether or not that big question will be answered in the season premiere and more!
‘The Good Wife’ Season 6 Premiere: Will Alicia Run For State’s Attorney?
“Season six picks up pretty much right where season five left off,” Ben told HollywoodLife.com. “It starts off with the question if Alicia is going to run for State’s attorney. Is Diane going to come Florrick/Agos with us? All these things start to be answered right away in season six.”
Thank goodness! Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) dropped the bomb on Alicia and the audience when he brought up the idea of Alicia running for State’s attorney at the end of season five.
As you know, Alicia formed her own law firm last season with Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry), and will be welcoming Diane Lockhart (the always fabulous Christine Baranski) into the fold.
‘The Good Wife’ Season 6: Ben Rappaport Talks ‘Renewed Energy’ In The Show
Right in the middle of the show’s fifth season, The Good Wife killed off one of it’s main characters, Will Gardner (Josh Charles). While we’ll never be over that fact, Ben Rappaport told us that there was a “renewed energy” on the set after the big change.
“It was really exciting and you could really feel a sense of renewed energy on set,” he told HollywoodLife.com. “Everyone was really excited about the writing and the fans were really on it, especially when Josh Charles exited. I think they were taken aback but also really excited by the reaction. There was a renewed interest in the show.”
We have to be honest, we didn’t think The Good Wife could bounce back after such a huge exit. However, season five of the show was one of the best of television ever. We are so pumped to see where this season goes.
The Good Wife season six premieres Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
HollywoodLifers, are you excited for the new season of The Good Wife? Do you think Alicia should run for State’s attorney? What do you want to see happen over the course of the season? Let us know!
