Lifetime is on a roll! The network, which premiered ‘Saved by the Bell’ and Brittany Murphy movies earlier this year, is now producing what will soon be one of our favorite holiday films, ‘Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.’

Everyone’s favorite sulking intern from Parks and Recreation is slated to voice Grumpy Cat in an upcoming holiday movie. Aubrey Plaza has signed on to the Lifetime original, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, which will premiere on Nov. 29.

Grumpy Cat Movie: Aubrey Plaza To Voice Sour Feline In Lifetime Original

In the movie, Grumpy Cat (real name: Tardar Sauce) lives in a mall pet store, where she has developed a lousy outlook on life, HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine reports. One day, a 12-year-old girl named Chyrstal becomes fond of the feline upon realizing she’s the only person who can hear her talk. Together, they stop a pet kidnapping and discover the true meaning of Christmas. Grumpy Cat even saves Chyrstal from a scary situation!

Jane Lynch Passed On The Role

We could not imagine anyone more perfect to voice the grouchy pet, than the equally sullen and deadpan Aubrey. According to TV Guide, the role was originally offered to Glee star Jane Lynch, however, the actress allegedly passed on the offer.

Aubrey joins the cast of what will soon be one of our favorite holiday movies. Already on board are the hilarious Russell Peters and the star of horror flick Mama, Megan Charpentier.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you happy with this casting news? Who would you pick to voice Grumpy Cat? Tell us!
