Cyndi Lauper & Emily West Perform Moving ‘True Colors’ Duet On ‘AGT’

Emily West experienced the opportunity of a lifetime when she performed with legendary singer Cyndi Lauper on the ‘America’s Got Talent’ finale on Sept. 17, and Emily dished to us EXCLUSIVELY about the ‘surreal’ performance. Click to WATCH!

Although she didn’t walk away the America’s Got Talent winner, Emily West, 33, is still a winner in our eyes. The runner-up performed alongside Cyndi Lauper, 61, for an epic duet of Cyndi’s hit “True Colors.” Emily also revealed to EXCLUSIVELY what it was like to sing with Cyndi!

Cyndi Lauper Performs With Emily West On ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale

Emily started out the performance solo and held her own to Cyndi’s tune. Suddenly, Cyndi appeared and the crowd roared with applause.

Cyndi and Emily held hands throughout the entire song — you could feel the emotion in their voices. Emily didn’t let the fact that she was singing beside the Cyndi Lauper intimidate her in the least.

Their duet was absolutely flawless. Cyndi even let Emily do the honor of singing the last note! How sweet!

Emily also dished to EXCLUSIVELY what it was like to perform with Cyndi!

“It was absolutely surreal and I just had to pretend I had a cold heart so I wouldn’t cry,” Emily told “She’s just one of my heroes and she made me believe at a very young age that you should show your true colors and not be afraid, and I went to a Cyndi Lauper show about 9 months ago before I auditioned and I said, ‘Cyndi, I’m really afraid and I need to make some decisions.’ And she said, ‘All you need to is go take a spirit dancing class,’ and I went to a Cyndi Lauper show and that was a spirit dancing class enough, and I want to teach everyone to not be afraid and go live your dream — go on AGT and go live your dream!”

Jennifer Hudson, Lenny Kravitz & More Perform On ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale

In addition to Cyndi Lauper, many other music greats graced the stage at Radio City Music Hall for the America’s Got Talent finale.

Jennifer Hudson performed her hit “It’s Your World” from her new album. Then, she joined America’s Got Talent finalist Quintavious Johnson, 12, for an emotional performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls.

Lenny Kravitz, 50, performed his latest song “The Chamber,” but also sang “American Woman” alongside Miguel Dakota, 21!

Blink 182’s Travis Barker, 38, played with AcroArmyTrain performed with Sons of Serendip and Ed Sheeran, 23, and Pitbull, 33, took the stage for solo performances!
