Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer has been deactivated from the Sept. 21 game after he was arrested on domestic violence charges on Sept. 17.
Jonathan Dywer, 25, has been charged with aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911 after he allegedly attacked a 27-year-old female and an 18-month-old child — reportedly his own wife and son — in two separate incidents.

The alleged incidents occurred at Jonathan’s home in southeast Phoenix on July 21 at 8 a.m. and July 22 at 4 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Jonathan was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on five charges: one count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage, one count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency, and assault, TMZ reports.
According to the site, the alleged victims are Jonathan’s wife, Kayla Dwyer, and child.
Police who interviewed Jonathan said he “acknowledged the incidents — but he DENIED any physical assaults,” TMZ reports.
Arizona Cardinals Deactivate Jonathan Dwyer From Sept. 21 Game
After learning of Jonathan’s arrest on Sept. 17, the Arizona Cardinals quickly announced that he has been deactivated for the upcoming Sept. 21 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
“We became aware of these allegations this afternoon when notified by Phoenix police and are cooperating fully,” the team said in a statement. “Given the serious nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate Jonathan from all team activities. We will continue to closely monitor this as it develops and evaluate additional information as it becomes available.”
