The ‘America’s Got Talent’ finale is all about the contestants, but Jennifer Hudson certainly wowed in the spotlight, alongside the series’ youngest contestant! The powerhouse diva teamed up with one of her biggest fans, Quintavious Johnson!
Quintavious Johnson, 12, must be pinching himself. Not only did he have a huge night on America’s Got Talent, but he also got to perform with one of his idols, Jennifer Hudson, 33, at the Sept. 17 show! Quintavious actually sang one of Jennifer’s songs earlier in the competition, so to be able to sing with the actual Jennifer was a huge highlight of the live finale show.
Quintavious Johnson Performs With Jennifer Hudson On ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale
If you can hold your own with Jennifer Hudson, you know you’re good. And that’s exactly what uber-impressive Quintavious Johnson did when he took the Radio City stage with the superstar on Sept. 17.
Quintavious was not in the least bit shy next to one of his favorite musicians, and their duet was nothing short of incredible. Seriously, we still can’t believe that this big voice comes out of such a little guy! Remember, he’s barely even a pre-teen!
Jennifer graced the stage and sang, “It’s Your World” from her brand new album! She stunned in a gold flapper style dress paired with over the knee boots. Then it was time for the young singer to join her!
Before he made it as a finalist, Quintavious sang Jennifer’s breakout ballad from Dream Girls, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” on the August 19 show, and wowed the judges. Howie Mandel, 58, even told him he should start thinking about how to win his million dollar prize!
The duo sang the hit song once more on the finale! Talk about an epic combination, both talented singers have huge voices that elevated the powerful song to new hits! Jennifer gushed over her duet partner saying, “He is just awesome. You are a star my love!”
‘America’s Got Talent’: More Finale Performances
Quintavious was probably the most excited to sing with one of his idols, Jennifer, but the other finalists also got the chance of a lifetime to team up with huge musicians.
Travis Barker of Blink 182 accompanied AcroArmy, Lenny Kravitz turned Miguel Dakota into a bad boy, Cyndi Lauper performed with singer Emily West and Train was with Sons of Serendip. Ed Sheeran also performed for all of his screaming fangirls and Pitbull held good company with the Rockettes.
