Iggy Azalea‘s ex-boyfriend, Hefe Wine, is continuing to hitch his wagon to her stratospheric success with his new claim that he has the legal right to sell their alleged sex tape because she already signed away her rights back in 2009.
In the contract obtained by TMZ, the 24-year-old rapper gave Hefe “exclusive rights to ‘manufacture, sell, distribute and advertise any recording embodying visual images.”
Iggy signed the contract for the purposes of releasing music and music videos, says TMZ; the fact that Hefe would use this loophole to exploit Iggy for his own profit is reprehensible.
Basically, all Hefe has to do is overlay the alleged sex tape with some music and he’s good to go; TMZ is reporting that Hefe believes that there’s nothing Iggy can do to block the release of the alleged tape.
Furthermore, “the contract provides that Hefe has the legal right to create, host and maintain a website to market Iggy’s works, so he believes he could create a website which would host the video.” Lovely!
Iggy fired back on Twitter against the claim that she had recorded a sex tape in the first place, but she did tell her 2.5 million followers on Sept. 11 that “Anyone who releases or attempts to make profit off someone else’s intimate moments against their will is a sex offender.”
Given that Hefe is willing to abuse a past contract for his own perverse gain, it’s hard to disagree with her.
“& it honestly makes me sick to see the media encourage any other attitude towards those sorts of people, we should want to protect our women,” Iggy continued.
We’ve got your back, Iggy!
