The remaining acts took the stage to showcase a past performance that they loved followed by a brand new act. It all comes to a close on Sept. 17, so the pressure was definitely on!
‘America’s Got Talent’ Top 6 Perform
12-year-old Quintavious Jonhnson kicked off the night with his signature big voice. For his repeat performance he sang, “I’d Rather Go Blind” by the legendary Etta James! Howard Stern, 60, praised the young singer saying, ” I’m feeling Quintavious all over this place. This guy takes the place and he owns it, he is a real pro at 12-years-old, I think he really has a shot.” Heidi Klum, 41, said, “You really are a true entertainer, I love that.”
Mat Franco returned with an act that he first did way back during the audition rounds, but in true Mat fashion he put a spin on it. His act featured him telling a story about Heidi, Howie Mandel, 58, and Howard at a bar while doing a trick with drink shakers and balls. As always Mat was extremely entertaining and engaging! Howie said, ” I think you have everything, you have the whole package, charisma, you can tell a story and the way you present your talent is amazing!”
Singer-songwriter, Emily West brought back her amazing rendition of Sia‘s popular song, “Chandelier.” Wearing a dramatic and old-Hollywood inspired dress, Emily showed off her unique and truly gorgeous voice! Howard called it a “winning performance, you are beautiful, a beautiful talent and I wish you the best of luck.” Mel B, 39, was not as impressed, “I have to be really honest, I much preferred it the first time around. You are still a killer singer, and half way into it you nailed it.”
Heart-throb Miguel Dakota, 19, brought back the performance that got him into the top twelve singing “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. Mel B said,”I think everyone is feeling the pressure and the nerves, I can sense that you were feeling that pressure. You’ve got that extra something, I do hope America votes for you, but it’s going to be tough not going to lie.” Howard said, “I think you did a good job, I think you found your way back, I don’t think it was enough to win, but I liked the dancing.”
Newly formed group, Sons of Serendip performed “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane. The stage was full of candles and the group really delivered a beautiful and serene performance. Mel B said, “America loves you, I love you, they have to vote for you!” Howard said, ” If you dont’ win, I think it is an image problem. You have pure raw talent, image wise you are not the “it thing” you are sort of retro. If you don’t win, that’s too bad because you have such talent.”
AcroArmy was the final act to give their repeat performance. The young group decided to perform “The Immortals” which they first performed during the semi-finals, and it was just as amazing this time as it was the first time! “You really deserve to win this thing, it’s unbelievable and if you don’t win it’s because television is limited.” Heidi revealed that when she is asked who should win, she always says AcroArmy, ” you deserve a show in Vegas and I can’t wait to see it!”
The Top 6 Perform A Brand New Act
It was then time for the acts to give it their all with their final performance on the Radio City Music Hall stage!
Mat, who always has participants help him in his act made sure to get plenty of audience members engaged in his final performance, as well as pitting Mel B and Howard against one another. His amazing trick made all four get on their feet! Howard said, “We have such an incredible season, that we have multiple winners. It would be awfully nice to see a magician win, especially one as talented as you! Mel B agreed saying, “I have to say, every time you shock me! You make magic become magic, you are great!”
Sons of Serendip tackled Evanescence‘s hit, “Bring Me To Life.” Hitting some very impressive notes, the group really made this classic their own. Heidi said, “You guys are stellar musicians and I wish you all good luck because it is a really tough tough decision for America, love you guys.” Mel B gave them huge props saying, “I want to buy your album right now, right now!”
Quintavious revealed that he started to sing in church when he was just 2-years-old, so he was planning on bringing it back to his roots! The young singer performed the classic Beatles song, “Let It Be.”Howie said, “you are a star, another star performance, another winning performance, America cannot let it be, they need to vote!” Howard agreed saying, “That was a remarkable performance, I don’t know how America is going to pick a winner, this is a tough one folks!
Miguel definitely was not playing it safe! The young singer sang Michael Jackson‘s song, “Billie Jean.” Mel B said, “That was a risk that you took, but I like a risk taker and I hope America does like that too!” Howard “I think this was your best performance, and I always think you are strongest with just your guitar and singing on stage. I think it was your strongest performance and I liked it.”
AcroArmy returned to the stage for another high-flying routine set to Fall Out Boy‘s “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark.” All four judges were beaming and gave the ground a much deserved standing ovation! Mel B, “You were thrilling, and amazing! That was seriously on fire!” Heidi agreed calling the performance, “Jaw dropping!” Howie said, ” that performance alone was a winning performance!”
Emily gave the final performance of the season singing, “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” by Roberta Flack. Wearing a black sequined gown the stunning singer looked like a true star! Heidi said, ” I am so happy that America finally got to hear your voice, it is so beautiful, I wish you good luck!” Mel B declared, ” That was off the chain! If that can’t win you a million bucks, I don’t know what can!”
What a great night! The winner will be revealed on Sept. 17, at 8 EST!
