Oh. My. Peeta. In the first full-length trailer for ‘Mockingjay, Pt. 1,’ Katniss has her heart ripped out of her chest when she finds out that Peeta is alive — and that he’s working alongside the malicious President Snow.

Jennifer Lawrence, 24, returns as Katniss Everdeen in this brand-new trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Pt. 1. The full-length trailer introduces a slew of unseen footage from the upcoming film, including our first look at Josh Hutcherson, 21, as the brainwashed Peeta Mellark, and Julianne Moore as District 13’s manipulative President Coin.

‘Mockingjay, Pt. 1’ Trailer: Peeta Surprises Katniss In Brand-New Footage

It’s finally here. A glorious one-minute and 47 seconds of never-before-seen footage from Mockingjay.

The trailer begins with Katniss, portrayed by the incredible Jennifer Lawrence, coming face-to-face with President Snow — and he has some sound advice for her.

Next we get glimpses of District 13 and it’s new citizens: the rebels. Fan-favorite characters such as Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Beetee (Jeffrey Wright), and even Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) return, while new ones such as President Coin as introduced.

Of course, we also see the late Philip Seymour Hoffman return as Plutarch Heavensbee in his last role ever.

But the most interesting — and heartbreaking — moment in the new trailer is when Katniss, seated next to an unsurprised Gale, finds out that Peeta is alive during his first-ever broadcast from The Capitol.

This gives a huge plot point away to viewers who may not have read the books, but the dedicated fans knew this moment was coming — and boy, does it hurt to watch.

Shortly after Katniss realizes Peeta is alive, we find her priorities have changed. We see a glimpse of her demanding Peeta be saved from President Snow’s control, or else she’s out as the Mockingjay and that leaves District 13 without their own rebel hero.

The Capitol Sends Cryptic Message From President Snow

While we are all thrilled to FINALLY see a full-length trailer for Mockingjay, Pt. 1, we can’t forget about the teasers that were bestowed upon us in the months leading up to it’s release.

It all started with the incredibly creepy video message from President Snow, in which he reminds us about the “dark days” — and why it is so important that the citizens of Panem stop rebelling against the Capitol.

As President Snow talks, the camera pans around in him a close-up shot, but then slowly pulls out and reveals a brainwashed Peeta standing diligently by his side. For those of you who read the books, you know exactly how Peeta ended up here.

For those of you who didn’t read the books, boy are you in for a ride when you finally see Mockingjay, Pt. 1 in theaters!
