So sad. Nicole Kidman’s father, Dr. Antony Kidman, has died after collapsing in a Singapore hotel restaurant. The beloved dad was visiting his youngest daughter Antonia and her children.
Dr. Antony Kidman died on September 12 after he collapsed at The Tanglin Club where he was staying, a new report claims. Antony, who was in his 80s, was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He reportedly died of a heart attack. Nicole Kidman’s, 47, father was visiting his daughter Antonia Kidman, 44.

The Kidman family is “in shock and is grieving” following the sudden death of Antony, Nicole’s publicist and longtime friend Wendy Day told Daily Mail Australia. “I think that some time and privacy is needed to deal with this shock and tragedy.”
Antony was in Singapore visiting his daughter and her family when he collapsed at his hotel in Singapore shortly after his morning workout on September 12, according to The Straits Times.
A spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that they received a call early on September 12 for medical help at the hotel/club, the outlet reports. A doctor and other members of the public were already performing CPR on Antony in the hotel restaurant when help arrived.
The doctor died of an apparent heart attack, the outlet reports.
The Kidman patriarch was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Channel News Asia reports.
Antony was a clinical psychologist at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia and a director of health psychology at the University of Technology, Sydney.
“We don’t know how to deal with this at the moment or how to digest the fact he’s gone,” a hospital source told News Corp Australia, according to Daily Mail.
UTS Vice-Chancellor Professor Attila Brungs recently spoke out on the tragic death of Dr. Kidman.
“It is with great sadness that we learn of Dr. Tony Kidman’s sudden passing,” Attila said in a statement, according to Daily Mail. “During his 43 years at the University of Technology, Sydney, Tony has contributed greatly – as a colleague, as a researcher, and as a health practitioner. Tony will be missed by all at UTS. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
A police spokesperson said they were investigating the death as “unnatural,” Reuters reports. The term “unnatural death” in Singapore ofter refers to falls or other accidents, according to Daily Mail.
Nicole’s publicist and friend, Leslee Dart, told HollywoodLife.com: “Nicole and her family are in shock by the sudden death of her father. She appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly requests privacy during this very difficult time. Thank you.”
Nicole and her father were very close. She frequently brought her father and mother with her to premieres and awards shows. The last show they attended together was the Swiss Celebrate Life Ball in early 2014. The family was last seen together in January 2014 for Antony and his wife Janelle’s 50th wedding anniversary.
