JLaw will play a major part in one of the most fashionable night’s of the year — and we can’t wait to see her on the red carpet!
Despite the fact that she couldn’t attend the 2014 Met Gala, Jennifer Lawrence was chosen among other notable attendees to co-host the glamorous evening, which is set to take place on May 4, 2015 in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Anna Wintour Costume Center. The party will fete the opening of The Costume Institute’s Spring 2015 exhibit, “Chinese Whispers: Tales of the East in Art, Film, and Fashion.”
Jennifer Lawrence — Met Gala 2015 Co-Host:
The exhibit is slated to run from May 7-August 16 and will be presented in the Museum’s Chinese Galleries, as high fashion will be presented alongside Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and Chinese films, which will reveal the ongoing conversation between the East and the West. The name “Chinese Whispers” is actually the British term for the game telephone, and it will be interesting to see how the culture from the East is incorporated by designers in the West.
Along with Jennifer Lawrence, other hosts include Chinese actress Gong Li, Marissa Mayer, Wendi Murdoch and Anna Wintour.
The annual exhibit is all about fashion, and the 2015 exhibit is sure to be just as glam as ever, as it’s going to include designers Giorgio Armani, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, Roberto Cavalli, Peter Dundas for Emilio Pucci, Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano for Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Pierpaolo Picciolo for Valentino, Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton, Mary Katrantzou, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Ma Ke, Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen for Givenchy, Kate and Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte, Anna Sui, Vivienne Tam, Isabel Toledo, Dries van Noten, Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Laurence Xu, just to name a few.
