Chris Brown has really matured! The “Loyal” singer gave an incredibly candid interview to ‘MTV News’ on Sept. 11, where he admitted that he still talks to a therapist following his assault of Rihanna in 2009.
Chris Brown, 25, sat down for an interview on Sept. 11, with MTV’s Sway Calloway where he admitted to talking with a “therapist twice a week!” The artist is gearing up to drop his latest album, “X” and gave some words of advice to Ray Rice, 27, who was kicked off the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 8, after a video surfaced of him hitting his wife, Janay Rice.
Chris Brown Therapy — Talks Open And Honestly During New Interview
Chris has definitely turned over a new leaf and is willing and ready to give advice to other who may be in a similar situation!
The super star opened up and bravely admitted that he still speaks with his therapist twice a week, and is learning how to better manage his anger. He definitely has learned a lot since he assaulted Rihanna back in 2009.
“I think it’s all about the choices you make. With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past – not knowing how to express myself verbally and at the same time not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they are. So I think help is great. I still talk to my therapist twice a week, and it helps me to…if I’m frustrated and I’m dealing with something, to vent and say what I’m going through so I can hear from an actual clinical person, ‘this is how you should react,’ or ‘it’s good to feel this way because feelings, emotions, and energy are supposed to come and go.
Chris continued, “It’s not supposed to stay there, you’re not supposed to keep it inside, because it’ll bottle up and you’ll become a monster.”
While Chris admits that he is not any better than Ray, he definitely has some wise words for him, and some encouragement for him. “To Ray, or anybody else,” he said. “Because I’m not better than the next man — I can just say I’ve been down that road. I deal with situations and I’ve made my mistakes too, but it’s all about how you push forward and how you control yourself.”
We applaud Chris for being so brave, and for trying to offer up some great advice!

While Chris is still working on things from his past, he has some very exciting things coming up, including the release of his album, “X” which is set to debut on Sept. 16! As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Chris has a super loving and caring support system, including his longtime girlfriend, Karrueche Tran!
A source revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com how Kae supports her man! “She intends to be by his side, watching him smile and be completely in his element when his album drops.”
The source even dished that Karrueche wants her work load to slow down! “She’s hoping her work schedule slows up a bit so she can be right there with him patting him on his back.”
It sounds like Chris has come a long way, and with Karrueche’s support we know that he will continue to move forward in the right direction!
