Chris, who infamously beat up Rihanna, in 2009, gave an incredibly candid and mature interview about how he’s managed to overcome his anger issues and how Ray Rice can too. Watch the video and tell us if you are proud of him for speaking out about domestic violence and giving advice to the NFL star.
Chris Brown, 25, was more than willing to give his take on the Ray Rice scandal when he sat down, Sept. 11, with MTV’s Sway. The singer, who is currently promoting his upcoming album, X, said that he’s no better than Ray, who was kicked off the Baltimore Ravens after video surfaced of him brutally beating his wife, Janay Rice.

It definitely sounds like Chris has learned a lot since he assaulted his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Not only does he admit that he’s still in therapy and talks to his therapist twice a week, but that he says it’s all about managing your anger issues.
I think it’s all about the choices you make. With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past – not knowing how to express myself verbally and at the same time not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they are. So I think help is great. I still talk to my therapist twice a week, and it helps me to…if I’m frustrated and I’m dealing with something, to vent and say what I’m going through so I can hear from an actual clinical person, ‘this is how you should react,’ or ‘it’s good to feel this way because feelings, emotions, and energy are supposed to come and go. It’s not supposed to stay there, you’re not supposed to keep it inside, because it’ll bottle up and you’ll become a monster.
Chris went on to say that he’s no better than Ray, but that there will be light after the storm.
“To Ray, or anybody else,” he said. “Because I’m not better than the next man — I can just say I’ve been down that road. I deal with situations and I’ve made my mistakes too, but it’s all about how you push forward and how you control yourself.”
Ray Cut From Baltimore Ravens
Ray was cut from the Baltimore Ravens Sept. 8, after video footage of him knocking his wife unconscious in an elevator surfaced. He was arrested Feb. 15, and suspended for two games, fined for $500,000 and ended up marrying Janay in March of 2014.
