Channing Tatum takes on his most physically demanding role yet in the upcoming ‘Foxcatcher’ movie, and in a brand new interview, exclusively debuted by HollywoodLife.com, the hunk reveals how he transformed into a ‘beast.’
Channing Tatum is almost unrecognizable in Foxcatcher with his buff body and fierce facial features. The dark drama follows the story of Olympic Wrestling Champion Mark Schultz, played by Channing, and the actor took on a new life to embody the true story.
Channing Tatum Reveals Method Behind His Hunky ‘Foxcatcher’ Transformation
“Every character’s different, and how you get into it. I don’t think I’ve done the same one twice.” Channing said at IndieWire.com‘s Afternoon Talk Series at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, Sept. 7.
Wrestler Mark Schultz is the character Channing is taking on this time, and it’s definitely nothing we’ve ever seen before.
“Mark is such a physical person,” Channing added in the interview, EXCLUSIVELY debuted by HollywoodLife.com. “That’s the way he negotiates the world is through his physicality.”
The actor learned to become the athlete “just watching the way he walked, and the way he just holds himself, and he sits and the way he holds his fork when he eats.”
Channing explains with a laugh, “He just eats. Instead of savoring the food, it’s just fuel. He’s just an animal.”
The Foxcatcher, which hits theaters on November 14, also stars Steve Carrell and Mark Ruffalo.
