Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Hunger Games’ co-star, Josh Hutcherson, has spoken out in defense of the actress after nude photos were stolen from her phone and blasted all over the internet. What happened to her is ‘not fair,’ he reveals in a new interview. Find out what else he has to say — click through to watch his interview.

In advance of their sure-to-be-massive press tour for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1Josh Hutcherson, 21, is speaking out in defense of co-star Jennifer Lawrence, 24, after her private photos were stolen and leaked to the internet at large. “It’s not fair,” he told ET Canada in a taped interview. Find out what else he had to say and tell us — would Jennifer want him defending her?

Josh Hutcherson On Jennifer Lawrence Nude Photos Scandal: Actor Defends Co-Star

When asked about the theft, Josh told ET Canada: “Actually I haven’t talked to her but I just think all that stuff is so ridiculous,” he said. “We’re people too, man, we just want to live, we want to be normal people, it’s not fair.”

“It’s something you obviously don’t want to happen to you and it’s really unfortunate that it happens but, I don’t know, I hate the way the world sort of views those sorts of issues,” he explained.

“I think everyone has their own way of getting through it… It’s really truly not fair.”

(Could Jennifer’s way of “getting through it” be by getting more and more serious with Chris Martin, 37?)

Josh Hutcherson: ‘We Didn’t Get Into [Acting] Because We Wanted Scandal’

“We are actors, we didn’t get into this because we wanted scandal. We want to live our lives and be actors,” he finished.

Of course, what Jennifer went through wasn’t a “scandal” so much as it was a vicious violation of privacy and, ultimately, theft. Jennifer didn’t do anything wrong — there’s no scandal here; it’s not as if she punched a grandmother in the face and a passerby caught it on tape.

While we love that Josh is so quick to defend his co-star, we have to wonder if that’s what Jennifer would really want. Private to the point that she basically becomes a hermit outside of press tours, would she want her co-stars to discuss her stolen photos whatsoever?

HollywoodLifers, what do you think? Are you glad that Josh is sticking up for Jennifer? Or should he have not said anything at all? Let us know!
