It’s all about bold prints, head-to-toe color and gorgeous gowns come spring as the designer sent a stunning collection down the runway during New York Fashion Week.
For Spring 2015, J. Mendel designer Gilles Mendel teamed up with artist Enoc Perez. The result? A more edgy collection that still stayed true to the designer’s beautiful aesthetic that was full of structured fabrics, a combination of textures, and bold prints as it came down the runway during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC on Sept. 11. We’re sure the slew of celebs who love to show off the high-fashion brand on the red carpet will be dying to slip into one of the dresses from the Spring 2015 collection.
J. Mendel’s Spring 2015 Collection:
Although fur has been huge on the fall runways for the past couple of years, don’t count it out in the warmer months — as long as the designer is concerned it’s totally in for Spring 2015. In contrast to darker hues, the spring fur popped in bold colors and patterns — and it made a major statement. The furs were actually the most bold and colorful pieces in the collection, and my favorite was a thin fur cape in a bold lime green.
The designer is known for his ability to create stunning gowns and chic cocktail dresses, and I loved the update of seeing the bold prints splashed across his signature silhouettes. It’s so exciting to watch a designer make a slight departure from what’s expected of them while still staying true to the fashion house.
While the evening wear was toned down, the column gowns, flowing sheer organza and thigh-high slits had a sensual nature that showed off the female form in such a flattering way.
Celebrities Who Will Love The Collection:
Although Kristen Stewart is all-Chanel-everything these days, (and rightfully so, considering she has a campaign with the iconic fashion house), she has worn J. Mendel for numerous walks down the red carpet — and a strapless black leather bodysuit was just calling her name. The edgy, chic vibe of the look was so in tune with her personal sense of style.
Along with KStew, I’m sure come awards season we’ll be spotting too many celebrities to count in the designer’s dresses, including Anna Kendrick, (who also happens to be a big fan of the brand.
