“The house was ablaze,” a witness said of all the candles illuminating the home, according to Page Six.
Melissa allegedly went all out for the intimate get-together. She even arranged flowers the exact same way her mother used to.
“It was like Joan was going to come down the stairs,” a witness said. “Melissa presented it just like Joan had done. It will probably be the last time we see the house that way.”
Dinner guests reportedly included Blaine Trump, Cheri Kaufman and Bill Sclight, author Nancy Collins, Lady Sharon Sondes and Elie Tahari exec Scott Currie, who planned Joan’s Temple Emanu-El service.
Joan Rivers’ Funeral — Melissa Rivers Has ‘New York, New York’ Played
Joan wanted her funeral to be full of Hollywood glitz and glamour, and that’s exactly what she got. The paparazzi lined Fifth Avenue, outside of Temble Emanu-El. The New York Gay Men’s Chorus kicked off the service and played songs: “That’s Entertainment,” “Nothing Like A Dame,” “What A Wonderful World,” and “Big Spender.” Even Hugh Jackman sang “Quiet Please, There’s A Lady On Stage.”
Finally, the New York Police Department’s bagpipe band played Broadway hits like “New York, New York,” and “Give My Regards to Broadway.”
It was the perfect way to celebrate the life of Joan Rivers. She certainly deserved the best.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? How do you feel about Melissa throwing a dinner party just as Joan would have? Should Melissa keep Joan’s NYC home?
